 Slow Wifi
I am having a performance issue when copying files with samba and Wifi to my playon.
When I copy a file from the playon to my PC it is not really fast (ca 1 MB/s) But copying fro my PC to the playon is approx 6 times as slow. Tried disabling firewall etc but no changes here.
Can anyone help to to figure out why and how to resolve this.
Thanks, Theopolis
PS : I am using the latest beta firmware. With this firmware the disconnects are a lot less when compared to the original firmware.

 Re: Slow Wifi
hi,
- how far is the device away from the router? - which dongle are you using? (we have two models, 10001 & 10002 - tried changing encryption type / password / wifi channel? - try giving static ip's instead of using dhcp
Usually the transfer from the player to the pc is faster than the other way around. However you should be able to get more than a few hundred kb's. It obviously also depends on the location of your Router and if there's maybe other devices that interfere. For a test you could temporarily disable encryption and move the unit close to the router. Just check if that gives any better results. Besides that you can also try the dongle on your pc or laptop and test it - just to make sure the dongle actually works ok.
best regards,

 Re: Slow Wifi
Hi Arne,
The router is approx 2 meters away. I am very sure that the signal is excellent. I also tried all available channels to see if it changes anything. I also tried changing encryption. This also makes no difference. The IP is static.
I have the oldest model The 10001.
