Re: PlayOn!X firmware (Optware friendly r4824)
Have been running v. 5.0 for a while know and wanted to upgrade to version 5.1, but I get this error message trying to install: Quote: No space for yaffs 2 image My partions looks like this: Quote: Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/sda1 2 3 16065 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/sda2 243142 243161 160650 82 Linux swap /dev/sda3 243162 243181 160650 83 Linux /dev/sda4 4 243141 1953005985 83 Linux
There were no problems with the install of v. 5.0. Unfortunately I don´t have the 5.0 version any longer, so at the moment I´m running v.4 Can someone help me how to fix this error?

May be it is a good idea to put on the playon!x website what works and what not?? The Youtube posted on the playOn!X works fine; make sure that you have lighttpd installed (optware) and running; it is needed for Youtube to work since it uses a php script to scrape the data from you tube. Snappy. Hi Snappy, Then I'm back to square one I've lighttpd running. I see the videos but I can't select them (I don't get select source???) Do you have any ideas?

Hi, Yesterday I installed the last PlayOnX rev 5 with Optware and RSSpack and I must say: Mikka, Snappy, I'm very impressed with your work. However I encounter the same problem as misterquantos. Some feeds are working just fine, most don't. Youtube2 gives the movietitles and pictures, but doesn't play. UZG gives an error after pressing OK. Lighttpd is running. menu.rss is present, allthough a slightly differtent size as mentioned a few posts up. What to do? Are there settings to be adjusted for lighttpd?

The internet being the way it is a lot of stuff changes everyday and that include how some of the infomation is being presented. All those web site scrapper use to play those feeds have a certain expectation as to what the data receive should look like; any changes can affect how well the feed work if at all. Your location on the planet (country etc...) can also make it so that certain feeds are not available to you. Hence it is not unusual for a certain feed not to work but in my case I must say that must of them works. All that being said YouTube works fine over here and should work no matter where you are located .... well maybe. Here's some statement from the man himself that was passed on to me to help you guy's that have problem with YouTube: "1) Youtube 2: if the list of video clips is visible, it means that lighttpd is running. If it doesn't go any further (to the source selection), it means that you.cgi is missing (not inside of /tmp/www/cgi-bin) or they are using Youtube 2 package on different firmware (with different Busybox). People are also rebooting too much, I've seen cases that: a) flash firmware b) reboot c) install Optware pack d) reboot e) install RSS pack f) reboot g) install Youtube 2 h) reboot Most of it is un-neccessary, only one (automatic) reboot after flashing firmware is required. Nobody likes multiple reboots and I'm a nobody as well." Hope this helps. Cheers !!

ebakardzhiev wrote: snappy46, can I change the Samba share Server to NFS Server? You should be able to by downloading the proper optware and configuring the exports file. I recommend nfs-server but I do not have access to my player right now to check if that package is available. Look in the list of available optware and download nfs-server if you can. Shares are usually setup in the exports file ..... /opt/etc/exports???? Once this is done you will have to modify your myrcS??? I think that's what it is called on this firmware so that your nfs server is start up automatically on boot up. Hopefully this will be enough to get you started; I once install an nfs server (seem like a long time ago now) on my player but since removed it because the performance was not any better than samba. I'll look into installing it again when I have a chance and see if there are any caveat that I might be missing here. Cheers !!!

I checked the items you suggested and I found that the link: you.cgi -> /home/scripts/Youtube2/you.cgi so the link is ok and it links to you.cgi on /home/scripts/Youtube2 but this script (the one in /home/scripts/Youtube2) didn't had execute permissions. I changed this with chmod a+x * and now it works great! Thank you for your help!
