1) Please make the scanning more stable! Up until now i have had no check disk messages for about 3/4 firmwares, but now getting them every time i turn on and off. I connect to a computer and it wants to to run a check!
Just to make the point! i have never had to do a check disk on any hard disk in the 10 years i have been using HDDs. i have had to do it about 20 times now! How can ACR not admit it must be the players doing? it must be? and i think its connected to the auto scan!
2) please update the manual! it took long enough to get one in the first place! I got mine pretty much on launch day with no manual. and it took a good 3 to 4 months to see it, and now its changed so much i think someone needs to spend a day updating the manual so users understand how to use the box.
i.e. back to the scanning, i had this set to off as explained in previous post, added new content, after which it went into a boot loop. Now I'm scared to turn off! i was going to turn on when adding new content, let it scan and then turn off again but now think its not worth messing with until it is stable! Please fix autoscan. It should only be scanning when new content is added!
Just an idea.... can you not have the ACR do a back up of the theater folder that can be applied if a boot loop occurs? you could have an option to restore the backup theater folder? which for me would save a night of scanning the disk (120GB of music)!
I have had to revert back to 5440 for now! Please fix, a response from ACR would be nice?
Graham Why is it so hard to read It was mentioned that the scanning function is not stable in this beta

Disabling the screensaver to improve overall performance... Hmmmm... Seems like a bug if this is a solution to the ever complained about speed of the device....

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD2_PV73700_v9.5.3.r6629
Hi,
Bought the PlayOn HD2 about 2 weeks ago, and I'm highly disappointed with it. To start with it had the latest firmware pre-installed
After enabling the NAS and copying my music to the PlayOn HD2, I performed a rescan of the hard drive after which the HD2 continuously crashed after displaying the home page briefly. the only way to stop the crashing was to remove and format the hard drive. In the end it appears to be the tags that I had used. after doing my own testing it came down to de CD covers I injected into the mp3's apparently the Playon HD2 does not like this for some reason. Ieven tried going back to a previous firmware version without any luck. I then installed the latest beta firmware v9.5.3.r6629 and now at least i can see the cover that belong to the songs but the HD2 often crashes for some unknown reason, depending on what I select in the menu under the music home page. I also regularly get the checkdisk message.
All in All I am very disappointed.

Its clear the POHD2 is not a very good product, at least the fw is not ok. No news there. Pffft Keep naging about the transmission issue.... It will NEVER work stable on the current mediaplayers. Get a laptop.
Installed the fw a while ago, runs fine. Some minor issues but still its a better version.
