Because of do not keep from consumer protection guidelines and arbitrary deletion of contributions is supported to this Support no more. Here I have extinguished the tips, because A.C.Ryan does not earn my Support.

I understand that the previous firmware limited FLAC files to two channels only. Does this version allow playback of 5.1 FLACs?

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD2_PV73700_v9.5.3.r6629
I just flashed using the safe method and immediately after flashing with this beta firmware its now stuck in a reboot loop......
At first it all seemed ok. I was prompted like I usually am with the language and network settings options. I made my selections just as I always do (English language and Auto for network) then immediately afterwards it starts a constant reboot loop after displaying the main menu.
I shut the unit down and removed my usb stick then restarted the unit = reboot loop again.
I even took the previously unnecessary step of flashing twice just to make sure there wasn't an issue with the first flash but that did nothing to stop it.
I went back to the previous firmware version I was using (5440) and its working again.

I haven't encountered any problems really all firing up as normal!
Noticed one thing... which is better and this may have come in an earlier firmware. When you turn off auto scan it keeps the database which is still usable. I thought when it was off you could not use the music, video and photo options on the home page! this is much better, i can now just turn auto scan on when i add new music and then off again once it has loaded up the new content!

FIRE THE WORK EXPERIENCE KIDS! Hello, If this happens, it's due to a corrupted '.Theater' folder. If you manually connect the Playon!HD 2 to your PC with the USB-slave (blue) cable, and delete this folder. You should be able to use r.5440 or r6629. Note: If you have any USB-sticks or USB-hdd's plugged in, this '.Theater' folder can also be present in these drives, so a delete of this folder might be necessary here as well. Br,

I thought that might be the case but I was po'd and blowing off steam. I didn't have the time to get experimental earlier and try it. I will give it a shot later and see how it goes. I will report back on how it goes when I have something to report Mikael.

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD2_PV73700_v9.5.3.r6629
Ok here goes.
With the unit using the 5440 firmware, I connected the unit to my pc and Windows 7 did an error scan and found no problems. I deleted .Theatre, .part, and FavLink_HDD.
I then reflashed with 6629.
I loaded the default settings (I always manually do this after a flash) and that was fine too. Saved my usual auto network settings and leave English as the language for the system.
All was fine until I told the unit to rescan storage = reboot loop.
I connect the unit to the pc again and deleted the same files as before. I started looking at the various files in the system and noticed the unit had done something in a particular folder. The folder had some mp3 files in it and for some reason the Playon!HD2 had created 2 empty jpeg image files that shared the same name as 2 of the mp3 files in the folder. The names of these files are 06 Led Zeppelin - Four Sticks and 08 Led Zeppelin - When The Levee Breaks.
I deleted the offending blank jpeg files and reconnected the Playon to our LCD tv = reboot loop when I told it to rescan storage.....back to the pc I go. I scan and fix errors, I delete the previously mentioned files again, revisit the folder with the Led Zeppelin songs in it and the same empty jpegs are there. I deleted the whole folder & files this time then reconnected it to the tv, rescan storage = no more problem. It is fine thus far.
I had made no changes between this and the previous firmware. The folder and mp3 files were there previously and I'd not experienced a reboot loop.
I did a copy and paste of the folder which contained the Led Zeppelin mp3 files and played them in Winamp on my main pc (from the Playon!HD2 to the pc) and they played fine.
Additional info about these files is they show up in Windows 7 with the image of their respective album cover (Led Zeppelin IV in this case) vs my other mp3 files which show the Winamp icon. They open with Winamp by default. The LZ4 folder itself has no separate image file yet all files show the same image of the respective album cover. None of my other mp3's/flac's have this.
Hope this helps.

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD2_PV73700_v9.5.3.r6629
ZOOM I have problems with Zoom... I can't exit from the set feature (e.g. 140%-100%), and couldn't use left and right arrows HDD UNMOUNT Could anybody try if turn off the HD2 then the external HDDs go to safe mode (sleep or suspend or everything?). I think something's happend since 4585, bacause this issue still lives Please help, because I don't know what's the problem. I tried 3 HDD case with 4 HDD. Maybe the HD2 software keep the HDDs such type, when I disconnect (after turn off the HD2 or during working) it still works. And with 4585 it works perfectly. Yours.

 Re: [Beta] Firmware_Playon!HD2_PV73700_v9.5.3.r6629
My main question is, does the connection with USB 3 to Windows 7 is now working fine? I will not destroy my new HDD again. And I am hoping that it works because I habe to send to AC Ryan nearly 1 TB of datas.
