Re: A few issues playing internet TV

Hi everyone. I have three questions:
1. I bought this unit because my 'so-called' smart LG tv could not play any internet video especially comedy central (we like the Daily Show and Colbert and live outside the US). I got the unit and it connected to Comedy Central's full episodes but it only played about 20 seconds worth and stopped. Has anyone else encountered this - can one the tech gurus at AC Ryan try and see if they get the same issue. Is there a solution or it is yet anther flash player issue.
2. We also tried to watch a new episode of Family Guy on the fox.com website but it said "not optimised for Mobile use" and did not play - definitely not optimised.
3. We live in New Zeland and tried to watch local content on and it played but on a very small screen at top of the tv - needed bonoculars to watch -I was unable to work out how to change the screen size or whether it can be done at all - is this because it thinks I am a moble phone? If so can I fool it to not think that? Is there a work around?
This product is tantilisingly close to be good - but at the moment it's just out of reach and therefore a bit frustrating.
All I want to do is be able to watch internet video in my TV without some massive pc connected to it.
Hi Robert,
directly to your questions/issues:
1.
have tried comedycentral.com here in the office in the netherlands and it works. I can open the page and playback videos in full length. I tried both video players (built-in, and es movie player) which both playback the video. There is no breaking point after 20sec. whatsoever. Here i would recommend you to re-download the firmware from our homepage and safe-upgrade it one more time to make sure system is installed correctly with flash player together.
You can also download the flashplayer from here apart:
http://www.acryan.com/downloads/VE91200/FlashPlayer.zipP.S. i have set the UASring to 'Android' here which you can do by pressing 'menu' in the browser and than goto 'more' and 'settings'. At the bottom you find the UAString setting which if set to 'Android' will identify the player as a mobile device. Worth a shot.
2.
same as 1., first check if flash player + firmware are ok. I went to m.fox.com which is the mobile version of the site fox.com and i can playback those clips. On fox.com directly iam gettin 'this content is currently unavailable'. Not sure if Fox needs a US Ip for identifying. You could try setting up a VPN for example with US IP and try again. I will try to get hold of one and try it again.
3.
can you give me some details on what you are trying to access? Please note that a lot of apps are made for mobile phones and than playback mobile video versions. Also in the browser check 1. again as what you have set your UASTring. If set to 'android' you will trick it to think you're a mobile device. If set to 'desktop' you will make it think you're coming from a desktop pc/laptop.
Let me know if this helps and what the results are or if you have any other questions regarding our VEOLO.
best regards,
