Recently I'v upgraded my acRayn with the latest firmware "Firmware v7.4.4.r5440 - European Edition" now everything worked fine untill today.

I can ping my acrayn,
I can make ftp connecten
I can enter the webinterface

In the windows network window my playonHD is also visible but it shows no access to \\playonHD. I don't know if this was there before but there's a icon in Other devices now also that's called "Realtek Embedded upnp render (acRyan)"?

Those all work fine without problem. Not I want to acces my Ryan HD by the normal windows7 network interface (before that always worked like a charm). But now 90% of the time the connection is refused.

I've tried:
to reboot the playonHd
turn on / off samba
turn on/off samba and reboot
reboot the router
but nothing seems to work

Anyone knows how to solve this problem?

Did you followed the how to tutorials on the forum ?

Do you run third party firewall software ?

Just a thought...

Have you set a static IP address for the Playon since the firmware update?

If you have mapped the PlayOn hard disk in Windows and, after the update, the IP address has changed then windows will have problems with the mapped drive.

I have set my PlayOnHD with a static IP address and after updating firmware always set the same IP address. Windows always sees it.

Well I tried some of the tips given to some of the other forum members with network problems but didn't see any firmware update new network settings, and it has worked fine for some days, and the only firewall I got is the windows firewall.

When i run the windows network diagnostics I get the message (devices is blocking connection)

And indeed my playon HD ip address is indeed set to static on my router settings. ( got no problems connecting to the playonHD by ftp or http) 192.168.1.19 in my case

Turn SAMBA on, not off, but perhaps you wrote on/off and meant off/on.
Are you sure the internal HD of the Playon is OK and formatted by the Playon? You do not need to reformat the HD with the new firmware.

A few other options:
Leave a USB stick with the firmware or no matter what other data in your Playon.
Turn SAMBA on.
Reboot your Playon and check on your TV if the NAS function is starting. If so, you should be able to access your Playon from your PC.

If this fails, disconnect the internal HD and reinstall the firmware by the safe method and connect the HD again.

Just got time to reinstall the firmware .
But now I don't seem to have any network problems while I think nothing has changed... Well I hope it stays like this!, otherwise gonna try to run the safe mode firmware update. Anyway thanx so far for the help.

Well this seems to work. Maybe it got something to do with turning ftp or bittorrent also on? Well I'll post it when I run into problem again
