I don't mind using de mini player with NFS, but why doesn't ac ryan solve the problem with the network ?
mac user won't buy the mini player anymore when this won't be solved I guess

They will buy it once, then discover it doesn't work and will never buy AC Ryan products anymore.

I Hope that Ac Ryan see all these comments but to be honest I don't think they even care about it. They blame Apple for everything.
So typical behavior of a not so very professional company
We should spread the news in the web in every forum that Ac Ryan does t care and they blame Apple......Then maybe they should react and fix the problem.
Thats what they need

Before you all go Berzerk try finding out what actually happened. As mentioned previously we know about this and it's unfortunate but we cannot just simply change that since we are also depending on the SDK of our chipset manufacturer. It's all a little bit more complicated than those apple devices themselves ;)

If there's any news i can post it here but until than there is no need to complain but rather use the workarounds which take you half the time to setup :)

best regards,

I see you point but the reality is that more and more Mac users will run Lion and they will have all the same problem with your hardware.
This is not an incompatibility with a obscure software. Your product has a incompatibility the second major operating system and I believe your company should fix it (if you were bigger than Apple, maybe it should be the other way around).
You fix it and make all the current and future Mac users happy. I ensure you that you don't want to know about NFS, they just want to stream their files the way it worked on SL.

Gam

The problem is that Ac Ryan should and must announce officially these workarounds here and what EXACTLY mac users have to do in case they don't know how to.
But they don't........
A Step by step description will be the best.

How-to:

1. open safari and type 'google'
2. in google type nfs manager setup for mac
3. follow steps
4. done

There are other alternatives as well as mentioned in several posts throughout the forum. Funny how Apple Users always assume that everything MUST work with their devices.

cheers,

First of all lets go over the settings on the iMac:

When you open NFS manager, got to the share definitions (that's under the header NFS server). In the right screen you click on the + button.
Now you will see the name /Users underneath the header shared folders. Select this and click on the button select.
Now a finder screen will open. Just browse to the folder you want to share and select it. Click on the button select.
This you will have to do separate for all the folder you want to share.
Make sure the folders you want to share won't have a space in them. I had to change some names. For example I changed the name of the folder "NZB Downloads" to "NZBDownloads" This is because otherwise you won't be able to share them through NFS.

Now we need to enter the settings in the POHD

This is much easier than most think. Go to browser and than select NFS. IN this folder you have to press menu on the remote control. Select add.
In the popup screen you have to enter the IP-adress of the computer on which the shared folders are situated. And enter the name of the folder you shared. Don't put anything strange here. Only the name of the folder will do. For example:
NZBDownloads or NZBDownloads/complete. You won't have to enter the / in front of the first folder name. Only if there are subfolders you are sharing.
Repeat this for all the folders you want to share.

thnx to Alan :-)

Thank you very much for taking the time to write down the procedure . Unfortunatelly I have 2 external Hard disks of 3 TB each and each one contains .......zillion folders. So probably it would take me months to complete this task.
