Till now I was so pleased that I was able to watch my favorite movies with the help of play on. I used to be a windows user but I had to go to mac. Of course I have always wanted to have a mac.
UNFORTUNATELY I am one of the many here that complain about the Lion version and the play on that does not see the files.
All here saying " yes try this try that or don't upgrade"
Sorry Ac Ryan guys but this is not a solution or even an answer
I bought the iMac with the lion version in it. SO what am I supposed to do? Return it to the store because play on hasn't work this out yet?
Now about the nfs manager and all these things that I have read......sorry again but I don't have a clue about these things and as a beginner in mac i don't want to do things that I don't know.
AcRyan must work this fast this is not an answer that because of the samba etc etc etc....you sell the play on...you must find a solution
All people who use mac out there are doomed because you can't find a solution?
Do you know what an unhappy customer is?

So if Apple changes something in their software the whole world has to follow? We are aware of the situation with Lion but there is basically not much we can do. The workaround with the NFS manager is really easy and if you would read it you'd be done in 5min. with it.

Good luck & best regards,

Yeah sure...so thats why you let first the mac users bust their heads against the wall to find a solution and YOU didn't announce the nfs solution first as a workaround.....Brilliant....

We don't but we are also not the Apple support. A quick search on google or in the look of lions new features/changes would tell you that apple has changed their samba protocol. Quick call to their support probably would give you solutions as well. Please note that this is not our product that produces incompatibility but Apple's. It's also not only our device that has this problem - basically all network devices have this issue.
So if you want anything changed about this please give apple support a ring and ask them to change this.

Thanks & br,

I see you point but the reality is that more and more Mac users will run Lion and they will have all the same problem with your hardware.
This is not an incompatibility with a obscure software. Your product has a incompatibility the second major operating system and I believe your company should fix it (if you were bigger than Apple, maybe it should be the other way around).
You fix it and make all the current and future Mac users happy. I ensure you that you don't want to know about NFS, they just want to stream their files the way it worked on SL.

Why do people spend so much time complaining. I use an iMac with Lion. Sure it was a pain about not being able to use a network to stream my files, but NFS manager works perfectly and it was so easy to set up. It works so why harp on about blame this blame that. Load NFS manager and get on with it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can you please describe STEP BY STEP what did you do to connect the media player with your mac?
Do you have files as well in an external Hard drive?

I'm actually not complaining (i'm a IT guy, NFS as no secret for me).
My post is more a piece of advice to AC Ryan to make a business decision to fix this problem on their side instead of waiting on Apple to do it.
Maybe you may post the technical problem here so we can report it to Apple?

It was not a specific, at anyone person directed comment, just in general.

All though everyone is saying that Samba is no longer supported by the macs with os x lion. But i dont seem to be having issues other than the playon does not get recognised by the mac when plugged in via usb even though i have NTFS.

also have the problem now with lion

I want to share my external HD to the ryan mini, in the NFS manager on my iMac I shared it
it says : /Volumes/WDEXTERN/FILMS

i go to the mini, add nfs : Volume/EXTERN/FILMS and of course the IP address

but I don't see when i did this in the NFS the folder ??

did I do something wrong?

I don't mind using de mini player with NFS, but why doesn't ac ryan solve the problem with the network ?
mac user won't buy the mini player anymore when this won't be solved I guess

They will buy it once, then discover it doesn't work and will never buy AC Ryan products anymore.

I Hope that Ac Ryan see all these comments but to be honest I don't think they even care about it. They blame Apple for everything.
So typical behavior of a not so very professional company
We should spread the news in the web in every forum that Ac Ryan does t care and they blame Apple......Then maybe they should react and fix the problem.
Thats what they need
