I'm hoping someone might have some suggestions of how to get my wireless dongle to work on my PlayOn!HD Mini.

SSID is being broadcast and connection using various adapters and computers connect successfully (both manually and using WPS). I just can't get the Mini to see any Access Point at all. There are quite a few in my neighbourhood and it's not just my network it's not seeing. The Mini is not detecting any APs.

I have 3 Realtek RTL8818 usb wireless-N dongles I have tried in the Mini and none of them are working. I know they're not duds b/c I can connect to my wireless network with various other computers using these adapters.

I know the usb Host connections on the back of the Mini are not dead b/c I've upgraded firmware from 7.0.2 to 7.3.5 to 7.4.6. I was hoping each of these updates would resolve my issue but they have not.

I found some posts indicating that I should not have any problems with Realtek adapters. Any ideas of how I might get wireless working?

There may be no driver in the firmware for this dongle. The Realtek RTL8192S chipset is supported.

And otherwise order the official dongle from ac Ryan if you want 100% compatibilty.

Officially the Playon!Mini only support our own Realtek -> ACR-WN10001 dongle as these drivers are installed. It also works with the 'Playon!HD Essential' dongle -> ACR-WN10002.

If you connect a dongle to the Mini, and you then go to -> Setup>Network>Wireless. If you are unable to get your access points/ssid's to show, then there is not much you can do, as you are not able to install any 3rd party drivers to our Playon! products.

There are some 'confirmed' working dongles from Realtek if you search a bit here in our forum, but we don't officially support these as we can't guarantee that they work.
