Re: How to open file menu.rss
Hi, to my very best knowledge you cannot stream real-time media this way (not sure about the why). You can install optware and contents from mikkas page 'http://stg.unixstorm.org/playon/features.php', or 'applications' like RSS-Ex, Mediathomb and others which allow you to watch/listen to streamed media. What are you interested in?

Re: How to open file menu.rss
I recommend you try Mediathomb as well as RSS-EX ( http://code.google.com/p/media-translate/). RSS-Ex has neat playlists, where you can simply put in the URL of the stream and very likely it works. Rgds Michael BTW: which FW version are you using??

Re: How to open file menu.rss
Too bad, but I am not familiar with this FW. Did you start mediathomb? The command is something like:"/tmp/hdd/root/opt/bin/mediatomb -d -m /tmp/hdd/root/opt/etc -f mediatomb ", To access the web-interface you also need httpd or lighttpd running (eg "httpd -h /tmp/hdd/root/opt/share/www") Also look at any path-names in 'scripts.zip' which might not be valid in your setup. Mikka uses" /home/..." which is NOT available n MY FW 8424, but maybe on your FW) Rgds Michael

Re: How to open file menu.rss
As for a I know RSS-EX is included in Mikkas 'scripts.zip'. Again, I wonder if all file-paths will work for you. The installation-script assumes an installation in /usr/local/etc/translate/... Sorry, I don't think I am able to help here due to the different FW you are using

Re: How to open file menu.rss
If you wish to use mediatomb on your current firmware I suggest you try the mediatomb that has been statically compiled with all the required libraries and can be install anywhere including your HDD. Optware installation is not required. See this link for details: viewtopic.php?p=38972#p38972As far as adding elements to your menu.rss; the 5440 firmware uses a different scheme than what we are used to in SDK 3.0 and adding the statement you tried earlier will not work. To see how to add elements (feeds) to the menu.rss of this firmware see the example (Step 2) I provided on this post. viewtopic.php?p=107527#p107527Good luck.
