:?: :?: :?:

Had updated to this firmware (latest?) but to its demise, streaming HD and even 720p or less movies are extremely jerky and stuttering :o :o

previous firmware was not so bad but was still intermittent streaming.

Also, USB attached external drive don't work anymore???

my setup:
Playon Mini with Playon Wireless dongle

Please help!!!!

But when we choose LPCM-Multichannel, the center channel is missing. Therefore no dialogs. Thats the problem. I haven't noticed it in previous versions.

FLAC doesn't use id3 tags. It uses ogg vorbis comments which are currently not supported in our software. We have raised this as feature request to our dev-team to check if it's possible to implement in a future firmware.

How the Wireless works strongly depends on your network setup + location of the dongle in relation to the router. In general you will get problems streaming content which is higher quality than 720p. In our Tests 720p streams fine though and in some cases even 1080p. If you feel that the older firmware was working better for you i would recommend you to downgrade until there is a new update.
We have had reports about external USB devices not being detected anymore. A workaround can be to plug a cheap usb hub between HDD and Player - this should solve the problem. Otherwise as first recommendation you can always downgrade to the previous.

best regards,

I like the new firmware especially the shortcut feature.
But I have two problems, srt subtitles are not always recognised
To see the subtitles I have to go in and out of the movie directory and then choose the subtitle again, sometimes i have to repeat this step a couple of times.
And streaming 1080p mkv files is a pain in the ass.

Please fix the subtitles for ext. "idx" and "sub". The firmware could not load or recognize. Pressing "Subtitle" button only gets a "No Subtitle" response. One solution I found is to create an empty "srt" file, name it same as the video file and during the playback, press "Subtitle" and from there you get to choose the binary subs.

SRT subs work fine though. Do note that I am streaming MKVs from my NAS.

As stated many times before we are working on the subtitles issue for the next firmware upgrade. Please stay tuned. So far you can use a previous release / beta which has working subs they way you want em.
sorry for the inconveniences for the time being.

best regards,

Dear ac ryan moderators and other people.

I just updated and then downgraded the firmware again because the new firmware wont display folder names starting with a .

i got
.movies
.series

Why? i have lots of folder on my nas and i hate browsing with the . they stay on top. I could change all folders and stuf to 1.2.3.4.5.6 but i like my . :) this small point might be something to fix in next upgrade

I know you are working on a new firmware version, but any idea when the next beta (or official) firmware with fixes will be released?

Not sure why you have everything marked with . before folder/file name, I certainly would rather have the new firmware and I would rename the folders.

well there is not much in the new firmware i need. i mainly use the thing for video playback. music and all il do directly from my nas to my stereo.

and renaming is something i could have done. i just wanted to make a remark about folders with . that are not recognized.
