Re: Less categories on the PC screen
Hi You can use the categories.xml file to enable / disable or rename categories See the wiki http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/Categories Andy

Re: Less categories on the PC screen
Hi Andy,
thanks for the reply. Made categories.xml in the base directory of my YAMJ installation but it didn't work. Any tip?

Re: Less categories on the PC screen
Hi Andy,
found the problem: in the properties file categories-default was requested as filename. Thanks

Re: Less categories on the PC screen
Hi Andy,
I have to come back once more to that issue. I used also the genre filter to combine subgenres. It works on the "All" page (I'm talking about viewing on PC) but as soon as I select i.e. a character all categories as well as all subgenres are shown again.
What to do?

Re: Less categories on the PC screen
Hi Have you configured the genres.xml file as per the wiki http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/Genres and saved it in ITF-8 format? In the moviejukebox.properties file have you enabled it by setting the following: - mjb.filter.genres=true mjb.xmlGenreFile=genres.xml Andy

Re: Less categories on the PC screen
Hi Andy,
yes, I did that. As I wrote, on the start page if I select "All" the filtering of categories and genres works. Selecting a character, i.e. "T" as there are almost all genres as well as categories inside, there is no more filtering. Categories which I have disabled as well as all subgenres are shown. Clueless Nice sunday

Re: Less categories on the PC screen
If you have changed the genres or categories files, you will need to re-index everything again.
Add the line "mjb.forceIndexOverwrite=true" to the moviejukebox, properties file and then re-run YAMJ That should fix the problem (remember to set the line to "false" when you are done.)
Later versions of YAMJ will do this for you, but I don't think v2.4 does it
