Well I think my player is dead! I tried to install an old firmware in safe mode but nothing append. Even when I try to turn on it on, I don't get the splash screen. I will get back to the store to get a new one.

Can be a broken power adapter and/or faulty hardware. As you notice correctly i would suggest you to return the unit to your vendor for a repair / switch. Good luck!

I tried various firmwares for the mini2 by now and i really do not get what you re doing there.
So just some ideas you could think about:
- No one needs shiny graphical menues with tons of sub menues slowing down the goal one wants. Which is ofc watching a movie with as few button clicks as possible.
Personally i would love a direct bootup into the databrowser with a selection of attached drives popping up.
- The Yamj and movie managing stuff is a JOKE and very uncomfortable. Just leave that out and do some decent thumbgen support included in the databrowser.
- Focus on core playback options and make those rock solid before adding any bonbon features!

The player is extremely slow while browsing NAS connected via Ethernet on 1Gbps bandwidth. I regret it. Hope they come up with better UI and improve speed.

Post Re: [Official] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r5440
Hi,

I bought the mini 2 a few weeks ago and have succesfully updated the firmware to v9.5.5.r5440
using the normal mode (from the system setup)..

I actually have not much problems with it but there are still a few annoing things to report.

1. When I disable the media scan at the system setup, it still stays active.
2. The resume feature seems to loose its data when the device is switch off and then
-- after it has played the first chosen resume (all the others are gone).

I also have the following question...

When I hook up the mini 2 with a Samsung usb dvd player, I can only play unencripted dvd's.
I wonder why this happens because I always thought that the decryption of protected dvd's
was in the dvd device, not in the player software. Am I wrong about that?

Finally I have the same request that someone else already earlier posted..
Can the X,Y zoom be moved to an earlier position when zoom is selected?

Thanks in advance!

Must be a problem on your site, browsing works nicely here, no hickups or whatever.
What happens if you play a movie...still slow.hickups or whatever.
What are you browsing btw huge folders with mp3 or what exactly?

1. if you disable the autoscan function also make sure to use 'clear history' option below that to erase the previous scan results
2. do you simply put device to standby or completely remove the power by switch or power cord? The player should remember the last played file to resume though.
3. encrypted dvd's cannot playback via any external usb drive. This is a licensing issue and therefore doesn't work. Unencrypted DVD's should play fine though (backups, demos, etc.)

same here we don't have any problems with the devices in gigabit networks. Browsing the NAS being slow shouldn't be a problem of our players since we test this daily on our nas at work and here at home as well and it works like a charm. Check your network settings / eventually upgrade the NAS firmware and also check your cabling. Slow browsing can also be a broken or damaged cable.

best regards,

Aah! I guess that is the problem (currently not able to check it out but I understand).

I totally unpower the device! I have a Samsung LCD TV with a resume feature in its player which remembers
the position of all clips on the usb device I connect (WD Elements). This even when I disconnect
and unpower everything. I expected the same with the mini 2.
The mini 2 remembers the position of many clips too (not only the last played) as long as you keep it on.

They do... :)

Thanks for your reply !

please, Please, Please would it be possible to move the X/Y variable zoom selection to be the first or second item on the list when the Zoom is selected. I am watching four whole series of the Lexx and every single episode I have to press the zoom button 8 times to get to the xy setting to set up the picture to fit the screen without losing large areas of the image.

I also love the X/Y and FILL zoom options. :) :) :)

hello,

I just purchased the hd mini2 all was fine. I installed the last firmware in order to be up to date. And now the box freeze : even if I use the remote I got no answers from the hd mini2, and I got nothing on the screen or same times a green splash screen. I though it was the hdmi cable so I changed it, no more results, I still have this problem.

What can I do? downgrade the firmware? send back the hd mini2 in order to get a new one?

thanks

Hi Luciano,

Sorry for any inconvenience. You can try again installing the same firmware by using another USB drive, as some USB drives cannot work or cannot be used in flashing.

Please follow the below steps to do it.
1. Extract the file after downloading the software.
2. Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive (Do not save it to any folder)
3. Disconnect the power cable from the unit and connect the USB flash drive to any host port of the unit.
4. Press and hold the Power button on the front of the player and re-connect back the Power cable
5. Continue to press and hold the power button for 15 seconds
5. The firmware update will start flashing on your display in a moment and will automatically reboot when update is completed
**Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!**
