Ac ryan you guys are really pathetic after such a long period of time you cant get one firmware right.
Just look at the list of firmwares you have lined up does any other product have such a list of firmwares with bugs. REALLY PATHETIC!!

Have you tried using YAMJ for your movies - makes the interface for movies 1000x better.

Generally agreed performance is less than stellar and random lockups, poor indexing and interface mar the technical superiority of the product.

Too many variants, different products and not enough time spent in consumer usability labs. ACR need to make the transition in brand from technical innovator to usability and style. ACR are selling commodity products now not niche geek toys. While in the past their target demographic may have been happy (often excited) at the prospect of rolling up their sleeves and diving into the bowels of linux - this is now not the market they are selling into. When this shift happens - for it must for them to survive, some will be disappointed at a perceived lack of flexibility but most will appreciate the stable functional platform

IMHO buyers would love to have a 'toaster' (stable consumer commodity product) of a media streamer with all the promised features working. end-of-story. no chasing upgrades, seeking workarounds and fighting with such banal bugs and issues it appears product testing amounted to no more than letting a troop (more like a barrel really  ) of monkeys hammer away at it for a few days before declaring a FW release market ready.

So personally I don't mind waiting for the next release - BUT when it comes let's ensure the B-A-S-I-C and fundamental usability issues are resolved, give us a stable platform we as consumers are happy to use for years and one that ACR can close the book on and move onto new platforms. If they don't they will continue to drag a multitude of variants of hardware software product and release - that will be unsustainable, constrain growth and development and negatively impact on their brand and reputation.

I,m glad someone describes the firmware releases from Ac Ryan (the lack of testing and functionality and so on) so beautifully. Thanks for that and Ac Ryan get the firmware indeed stable and reliable. Gui 2.0 is a disaster.

ive been a patient customer for too long. Im from pakistan and i ordered playon hd from u.k , waited for a year for my friend to bring it. I knew it had firmware bugs and thought acr will fix it by then, but i was so wrong. A whole year has past and they have more bugs in their firmware then before. There are other ppl who have been waiting for a proper firmware for more than two years.
