Re: [HOW TO] Synology NFS setup for Playon!HD Mini2 / Playon!HD2
Nasau,
Was trying out the steps you've highlighted, and after umpteenth times, I finally manage to get it to work. All your steps were correct, however, I'd like to point out to others that would like to connect to Synology NAS in the future to take heed with some screenshots.
1.
Go to control panel->shared folder->nfs in syno web interface,set up ip access for nfs (ip of mini2)
Do this for all folders you need to access . (ex. video, music, etc)
joechong>> This is done within the Synology Diskstation web console. The attached image is where you should be setting up all the steps above on enabling NFS. Take note of the mount path of each of the folder that you enabled NDS on. The image shows for /volume1/video
Attachment:
File comment: This is how the NFS is enabled for each path in Synology. Take note of the mount path (/volume1/video/), and also the credentials and mapping.

2.
Setup your network connection to nas in the mini2
Go to files manager->network->workgroup->diskstation
Press ok on remote insert your user name & password
Click ok and save to my shortcuts
joechong >> I've a POHD mini. I first created a Synology userid called pohd in Synology and grant it access to all the above folders that would need to be browsed from POHD Mini. I can't remember the exact step where I've entered the userid/password credentials, but I suspect its somewhere during the setup here.
3.
Set nfs path in mini 2
Go to files manager->nfs
Press menu on remote to add path
/volume1/music/
click ok and save shortcut
Press menu on remote to add path
/volume1/video/
click ok and save shortcut
joechong >> Please setup this exactly with all the "/", and its per the one you've setup using the NAS. For example in Synology NAS, you may see the mount path as "/volume1/video" as per the earlier screenshot. However, in the POHD mapping, you need to add "/" at the end to make it become "/volume1/video/". Else, you'll always see login failed, as the POHD is unable to setup the mapping.

File comment: A screenshot of the POHD input of the NFS path mapping to be entered. Take note of the "/" at the back, and make sure its exactly the same as the one setup earlier in Synology NAS.

I manage to browse to the NFS in Browse after all the steps above. Now to resolve the YAMJ issue.
