I ended up downgrading to the first firmware available and at least, I can use the HD2 after a couple of reboots because it doesn't recognise the internal HD.... crap!

Do you think, guys, this company will ever make this product usable? Will they ever reply to our complaints? Or they are just playing for making us tired? Is it worth still waiting or is it time to get the money back?

Can you get your money back from the retailer after owning the unit for 3months? Ive had nothing but problems and im quite certain that the unit killed my 2TB HDD which was pretty much full of blu ray iso's. Not been very happy at all since owning it. Im going to buy a HDI Dune next me thinks, they even have an iPhone app which is cool :)

How long have AC Ryan been talking about the fluxx? how many release time frames have we heard. all a joke tbh

I have lots of audio problems after the update, when resuming after pause button audio is gone, lots of files have distortion audio and rubble.
also menu is sooo slow, i regret buying hd2 instead of other media player.
also dvd map auto play is not working, have to select .ifo file manually. file resume is not working for most files and dvd maps, my hd1 worked better and faster.
i am not happy :evil:

During the warranty time the retailer MUST receive it for repair. Of course, they wouldn't give the money back immediately. However if they cannot repair it (i.e. get it work with the functions the manuafcturer specified) they have to declare it unrepairable. In this case they either give you a working piece of the same model (ha-ha) or have to give the money back. Quite recently I received the price of a vacuum cleaner back which was almost a year old.
To be honest, I was quite confident and patient with AC Ryan for a long while seeing the discussions and the intention for making it better. Now it's completely gone. They don't even communicate, seems like they have decided to withdraw and stop all support to their customers.
We have been posting just for ourselves, at least it's a good surface to give ideas what to buy instead of AC Ryan.
So you have good references for HDI Dune?

Hi Fakir,

The only things I can think of:

    Remove the installed HDD from your POHD2;
    Take cheap USB stick (there could be a problem with spinning up the USB-drive after upgrading the firmware) and put the img-file on that;
    Use the 2073 firmware first (most new bought POHD2's had that version) and go upwards;
    Install your HDD back into the POHD2.

I hope this will help you

Notice there are severe problems with file copy to the installed HDD in POHD2 with firmware 5440 and 5311 (reboot loop).

Koos

Well, I tried this and many other things as well. Downgrading also did not help so my machine is dead after trying to upgrade to the latest firmware.
I'm sending it back (bought it in April this year) for repairs and buying another machine. I'm thinking about a Popcorn Hour C-200 or a Dune.

Well, I still am not as negative about AC Ryan as others here. I sent an email to nl@acryan.com today for support and got a sensible and polite reply very quickly!

In the end they confirmed that I have to send my product back to either the place where I bought it or immediately to AC Ryan as a defective product under warranty.

So if you really need support from AC Ryan, forget this forum and send an email to the support email address for the country you're in.

.srt subtitlle files not working now either......pfffft comedy show.

EDIT: Your solution posted here:

This is unfortunately a new issue that we did not notice due to us naming our subtitles differently. We have reported this and will be fixed.

You are not able to have '.' in the subtitle name with this firmware.

To solve one of your examples ->

BBC.Invisible.World.I.2010.720p.mkv
BBC.Invisible.World.I.2010.720p.chs.srt <- Rename like this: BBCInvisibleWorldI2010720pchs.srt

Turned out to be completely useless....even srt files without '.' are not working. This is such an obvious flaw where the hell is the testing before official release?

Try this:
BBC.Invisible.World.I.2010.720p.chs.srt <-Rename to BBC.Invisible.World.I.2010.720p.srt

Maybe when the subtitle name is different from the movie file name it will cause problems.
