Found the solution, go to hardisk using computer slave port and delete the file create by player like Theater. etc. so it wouldn't keep rebooting. what the bugs!

Hello everyone,

Please don't spam the firmware thread with post after post of what you are doing etc. Try if possible to compile your messages into 1x message, or simply email/call us for direct support.

We naturally test our firmware before release. Install this firmware using the safe mode method with a USB-stick formatted to FAT32.

Then delete the .Theater folder if you for some reason would end up in a endless boot, and it should then start normally. You can do this by connecting the player to your PC with the (blue) USB-slave cable.

You can also go to 'Setup>System>Clear history' if you want to delete the '.Theater' folder which can get corrupted if system has crashed previously.

You never have to delete any folders with the initial firmware....it just works 100% of the time. Allbeit with some glaring setup omissions, especially in the subtitle dept.

Besides for me and a friend i know with the same unit but different hdd, the methods that keep getting mentioned on this forum as a solution to the boot loop saga/fiasco simply dont work.

Imho based purely on the stability of the initial release the problem is your firmware, and i feel something closer to the first firmware would be a lot better all round for people with constant boot loop problems.

I mean its not like you are adding in thousands of new options or anything i cant see why its so hard to come through with a firmware as stable as the original one.

Then again i am just a very annoyed customer, shame because i really like everything about the unit apart from the rubbish firmware.

Hi All,

Just safe flashed my PlayonHD2 with r5440, first movie play always in high speed playback, just wonder if anybody come across this problem. The work around for me is press 'pause' button twice & then press 'play' button, from then on every movies works after that. If PHD2 turned off & on then I'll have to repeat the same process, any ideas?

regards,

The usual suggestion from the mods here is to Safe reflash one more time.

Hi All,

The high speed playback problems only happen on those movies that I generated from Handbrake.
So I guess, it must be some settings within Handbrake I did not set it right.

Thanks for you time.

Hello,

Yes, if you use the 2nd newest version of handbrake I think the files will work. There are some known issues with this software and the files this creates to playback on our players.
