Hi MSantaka,
I already changed that, the red lines are put just outside the screen, but still movies are played with the black areas around it. I tried to change the HDMI setting (auto, 1080p, 1080i, back to auto), still no luck

Thanks lbs, that was simple.

Any ideas why the movies aren't shown full screen ? I tried DVD movies, BluRay, mkv; all movies are shown with black spaces around the movie. Is this a false setting I have done somewhere ?

thanks in advance for the help

Hi John,

It is possible your screen size hasn't been set yet. Go to Setup>Video> and at the bottom there's screen size. Use your directional button to increase or decrease the screen size. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the new firmware.

I have a problem with TV series. YAMJ generates fine. When I look at the index file on my computer everything is perfect. When I open Jukebox on Playon there are no files in the map of the serie. This only happens when I have more than 1 season in the TV serie map. When I have just one season in the map all goes well.

Had this problem also with firmware 3966 of june 10th.

Help would be appriciated.

Thank in advance
Jolanda from Holland

Had an old problem too (loop between screens: main menu / black screen / welcome screen and zo on but after installing 5440 again this problem does not occur anymore. :)

hi there,

i have a wireless usb keyboard connected to my playon hd. it kind of works... i can use it to enter search strings for you tube for example, but the space key is not working... that means that i can enter words with my hardware keyboard but i have to enter the spaces between the words using the onscreen keyboard... can someone tell what to do to fix that? another problem is, that the usb keyboard layout seems to be fixed on qwerty mode no matter what keyboard language i select. i have a german keyboard, that is a qwertz keyboard, and i tried all 3 german keyboard language settings but that seems to have no effect!?

any tips? thanks :-)

Just upgraded. One 'annoyance' remains but I hope ACRyan would consider this a bug and fix it in next release. I store mkv files together with SRT files within one folder. Play movie using File Manager. When you hit the subtitle button, all the SRT files within the folder will be available for you to select. In version 7.3 firmware, only SRT that has the same file name as the mkv file being played are displayed.

Just upgraded. Everything seems to be ok. I really like the new Bookmark menu. Prevents a lot of clicking to go to the right map on my NAS!
As said with the previous release: this firmware is a good basis to solve the remaining bugs and issues. Keep up the good work!

Does the new official Firmware support the following official Network Features in my ACRyan PV73100?

- Great as Network Media Center
- Functions as NAS network drive
(accessible via network from all NAS capable devices)
- Browse network by navigation or direct IP address
- Plays and Streams audio/video/image media from any device in your network
- Use Playon!HD to play any media in your network
- Play media stored in the Playon!HD from anywhere in your network

I just installed the "latest-greatest" r5440 but still experiencing network problems. I must be doing somethin wrong. Can you explain how to use these features?

1. Samba is not stable. After moving files using samba protocol, the POHD device is not accessible from the netwrok. :dremel:

2. DLNA is not working. WMP reported exceptions on the device.

I tried the two previous releases of v7.4.x but the NAS function was so unstable that I had no choice but to rollback to v7.3.x. I wasn't at all hopeful with this one either since they had done nothing to NAS but I gave it a try nonetheless. To my pleasant surprise it survived the first transfer of a 4.5GB file. Unfortunately the second file (8.2GB) failed when it was about half way through. My second attempt of transferring it was successful using Teracopy instead of Win 7 File Explorer. However any attempt to copy anything from the player would kill the connection almost immediately, every single time! Also the Player would freeze up for a few minutes before it regains consciousness!

If you monitor the network traffic patterns using the Task Manager, you would see that there is a big different between the two versions of firmwares. v7.3 would give you a solid block of transfer staying basically about the 4MB/s line. On the other hand v7.4 is always be very choppy with many occasions recovering from its near-death, and in many occasion, it would just die!
