 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r5440
Hi there Is the "bug" with autodetect DVD resolved? Long time ago it was possible to have folders with a movie, in this folder a AUDIO_TS and a VIDEO_TS folder. The system automatically detects the DVD and starts playing. Now I have to get inside the VIDEO_TS folder and pick a file like *.IFO or whatsoever to start playing. THis is not user-friendly
Thanks in advance

I never had to single out some file and play. Hope it works out for you.

Hi lbs I know what you mean, but I have lots of movies in DVD format (so with AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders). The system used to recognize this folder structure and starts playing automatically (about 5 or 6 "official" firmwares ago ... ). When in a movie folder there is an ISO file or mkv you still have to pick that file before it plays, but then again, it is only one file. In DVD structure there are lots of files in the VIDEO_TS folder lbs wrote: John64 wrote: ....................snipped........................ and pick a file like *.IFO or whatsoever to start playing. With a dvd movie folder you simply don't move into the movie or video_ts folder but just highlight the movie folder name and press the play button. That should do the trick.

You are probably just confused with the different 'naming' from previous version of the SDK 1,2,3 to the current SDK 4. RAW and Passthrough is the same thing, this basically means that you 'pass' the original signal and if you have a audio/video receiver that supports the passing audio then this will be outputted to your system.
However, when it comes to your particular question, the AAC audio output -> this is a known issues in the new SDK that this firmware is based on, and has been reported as a known bug/issue for Realtek to be solved. Since this is part of the closed SDK that we base our firmware from, and this has not been fixed with this version.
This audio format (AAC) will only work in 'Setup>Audio>HDMI output: LPCM Multichannel' mode. If you only have 2 channel AAC files, then it might work with passthrough/raw, but never with more channels or with SPDIF cables.
Br, Hello to you too, I reinstalled v7.0.6 r2901. In this version I have the following options: 1. HDMI LPCM 2. HDMI LPCM Multi channel 3. HDMI RAW 4. SPDIF LPCM 5. SPDIF RAW In older versions I'm positive there was the (not working) "passtrough" option. In the v7.0.6 r2901 version SPDIF RAW works fine with AAC. (I can't use HDMI because of the never solved issue of the "Green Screen"...) Now why would AAC not work in your latest "super the luxe" version if it only passes though the signal? Nearly all YouTube clips have AAC... Just like how ik want my steak; RAW!!! One more advise: Don't tell your customers they're probably confused. It's not very polite and even when they're confused it might be caused by ACRyan, yourselfs... Hello again, I did not mean to offend you in any way, just wanted to explain that they are both the same, but just to be clear -> RAW and Passthrough do the same thing. The difference is only in the naming between the older and now the newer firmware versions. The 'HDMI output: LPCM Multichannel AAC' issue is a bug/issue that we can reproduce, and have reported. You are not able to get more than 2channels with passthrough or raw setting, so if you want to have AAC 5.1 outputted, you must have HDMI: LPCM Multichannel. Regarding 2c AAC files, I just tested with both HDMI + SPDIF-Optical and I could get 2c outputted with all settings. Send me a private message with the files that you have issues with and I will take a look. Download/Install 'Media info' from here -> http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en/Download Open the file you have issues with media info and then go to -> File>Export>Text> Select advanced and save .txt file and send this to me with PM / private message here on the forum, then I can see details and perhaps help you with your issue. If you have SPDIF and want to have audio in YouTube, you have to use 'Setup>Audio>SPDIF LPCM' setting or you will not get audio, this is known with this SDK version. Br, I'm sorry but I'm not going to do all that work of "media info"-ing files having the AAC-issue and sending it to you. That would take too much of my precious time. It's your job to solve problems like thisone. All I can say is that the (2 channel) AAC files are embedded in MKV. Just like the streamed YouTube clips that have AAC audio it doesn't work in "passthrough", only in "LPCM". For now, I'm happy with version r2901. When AC-Ryan fixed the AAC-issue, whether 5.1 or only 2 channel, I'll try that version.

So now that you have YouTube working why isn't there any support for either HQ or HD content and why isn't any of my subscribed people listed or my favorites.

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r5440
Thanks lbs, that was simple.
Any ideas why the movies aren't shown full screen ? I tried DVD movies, BluRay, mkv; all movies are shown with black spaces around the movie. Is this a false setting I have done somewhere ?
thanks in advance for the help

thanks in advance for the help Hi John, It is possible your screen size hasn't been set yet. Go to Setup>Video> and at the bottom there's screen size. Use your directional button to increase or decrease the screen size. Hope that helps.

I'm so glad the subtitle and color not memorizing last settings is addressed and rectified. I like it with yellow over white mostly. Yellow is more significant on a TV, whereas white may be suitable at a real cinema screen..just my thought! When credit is due, its given nicely! Thanks guys!,
