Hello Playon!HD Mini owners!

We are happy to announce our new official firmware.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware together with the change log and instructions on how to install this firmware.

We have turned off 'Setup>System>Auto Scan' by default. This means that the main menu 'Movie/Music/Photo' selection will not be accessible until this function has been turned on and scanned your local storage. You can use 'Files Manager' or the new 'Shortcuts' for quick access of your files. We have done this change due to the possibility of adding 'Shortcuts' and to save resources of the player for those who don't want to have this function on.

Important: To install this firmware you need to have at least Firmware v7.3.x.r3582 installed in your player. You can see your firmware version in 'Setup>System>System information or 'Setup>Misc>Version info'. If you have a older version, you need to start with version v7.3.x.r3582 before updating this.

A good upgrade, the shortcuts seem to work well.

However, when fixing the subtitle issues, another error has been introduced. Previously it as allowed to have subtitles named <name>.en.srt, where the .en was a language (in this case english). These files are now ignored completely, the mini thinks there are no subtitles at all in the folder. If I rename the subtitle to <name>.srt, it works just fine.

Things that still haven't been fixed:
* The 'unknown hardware' error on soft power on is still there.
* Occasional double arrow key presses are received, even though the key is only pressed once.

The mov movie shot by canon still sluggish after more than 10 seconds of playing..Cannot understand why the very old firmware can play this format well but not the newer one.

Acryan, when can this be fixed?????

This looks like a FW that is worth the upgrade hassle from SDK3 fw. If shortcuts work as advertised, I'm pleased.

Hello,

Just because you send in a file to us for checking does not mean we can support this in the future.

Did you get a reply regarding this matter? If so, perhaps you can share this information as well why this file did not work? If not, then just paste me the media info extract or let me know to which address, or who you sent this file to, and then I can check and get back to you with a answer why this file does not play, and if there is a way to solve this issue, I can give you this information as well.

You can send the media info details or who/where you sent this information to me by 'PM / private message' here on the forum.

Thanks

Hello,

They work as advised.

They work based on IP address, so if you change the IP during reboot of destination then this will not work.

At the moment, not possible to save log in details, so you should share without username/password. We will see if we can make this possible in the future.

Wow, the shortcuts - finally!! And they do work with NAS devices, this is just absolutely awesome!

Thanks guys for listening to your customers and implementing it, great stuff! :D

The only small thing that would be nice is to exit back to the Shortcuts menu when you press Return while in the shortcut folder. At the moment it just moves up to a folder above it on the network. Not a major though.

No saved passwords with shortcuts? Might as well have not bothered.
Greatly disappointed - I'm running a Windows domain, so everything is secure and I'm not willing to change that.
Guess I'll just stick to having to navigate through the menus, then turn off the subtitles. Easier than entering the username and password using the remote.

Maybe one day I'll get around to make a little Windows PC to stream films.
