 Re: [Official] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r5311
Hi,
Have to say, you guys keep inspiring me. Never saw a company create so many problems with each new firmware release, although not much was working properly before. Those little things that worked are broken now....
Over NFS avi play is fixed but hi-res containers (no matter wich container... Mp4, mkv,...) subtitle support is broken, although it worked before. Keep getting random shutdowns/resets. Sound issues on various containers. Starting up issues, takes twice as long to start up (from stand by) and even then the menu has to refresh after a second or 3, also scrolling issues...
Thanks for the wasted time, I'm finally getting a new popcornhour or dune (even my wife is getting sick of the mini 2). Just a shame I can't return the mini because AC ryan keeps saying to the resellers everything is working fine. It's a shame a dutch device can't perform as expected.

I use mainly .mkv H.264 files, always with either separate or muxed .srt subtitles and I haven't seen a problem with this release. You have to enable subtitles in 'Setup' now but after that they seem to work just fine. Quote: Keep getting random shutdowns/resets. Sound issues on various containers. You'll need to be much more specific if you want help with those.

Same here, but I agree that turning off subtitles should only deactivate the displaying of them and not prohibit to activate them manual. Cheers data68

Subtitles are enabled (otherwise would'nt get them on avi), if the subs aren't embedded I've got no sub support over NFS (on all HD files!) hadn't got any problem before this update, so now I have to chose between a firmware with no avi support over NFS or with no sub support on HD files over NFS... Like stated, the shutdowns are random, in home menu, while watching movies, listening music.... So it's hard to be specific (and I'm not the only one). The same for the sound drops (sound over hdmi), havn't got any sound problems before the update.

1). Agree with putting Shortcuts at top, or at some color-button. 2). Also got the problem my network is not always found. First time i got it, i fixed it by rebooting my entire network (router/nas/mini2). I then created a shortcut through filemanager, and a new shortcuts-shortcut. One day later, it again can't find my network devices(in filemgr), and now using the shortcut-shortcut will reboot the mini2. BUT, it can find the old shortcut in the filemanager, and i can excess files that way. So, the network is somehow worse, which renders the new shortcut-function in-operable (or at least for ppl with a NAS who don't like rebooting their network?) 3). The preview of folders (with the slow-button), somehow got the names mixed. So my moviesheet.jpg and preview.jpg got switched, so i get the moviesheet as thumbnail and viceversa. As a programmer myself, i'm really amazed some bug like this can even be introduced in a 'live' product. Workaround was of-course regenerating all my moviesheet with different names, but stupid bug/change non-the-less 4). Love the auto-subtitle, thx for that. 5). Thx at least for the trying to get us the much-wanted shortcuts, hope you guys fix the network-thingie.

So, the network is somehow worse, which renders the new shortcut-function in-operable (or at least for ppl with a NAS who don't like rebooting their network?) That's exactly my problem. The reset happens when you try to access one of your shortcuts but the NAS is not detected (if you go to file manager -> network you won't see it). I noticed that sometimes if you go to settings and deactivate and reactivate the Samba support then the NAS reappears in Network. But it's not a math science. bweefting wrote: 3). I've several TV series and sometimes the episodes are not in alphabetic order, I get something like this: 19 - episode name 20 - episode name 22 - episode name 21 - episode name and they're correct. but I guess it's something related to special characters. I noticed that some like dot (.) or question mark (?) makes titles totally crazy. For example I had to rename my folder from "Magnum P.I." to "Magnum PI" or else the name became something strange like "MOXVK~Q". This is something I hope AC Ryan staff will have a look soon. It's a behavior that started with previous firmware release. Trying to play with text encoding in the settings did nothing.

Do I understand it right: there is a possibility to have JPGs for thumbnail-overview and another JPG for the sheet? Cheers data68

I answered your query about mangled filenames in your other thread about this - it's a Samba "feature"!

Red has been used for shortcut deletion, so is it possible to use either yellow, blue or green for it? (just like you have a dedicate "File" button for the "File Manager" menu on the remote) +1 IMHO the colour buttons should be usermore often. ExampleIn main manue: - Red -> Favorites
- Grenn -> Movies
- Yellow -> Fotos
- Green -> Music
In media view: - Red -> All media files
- Grenn -> Movies only
- Yellow -> Fotos only
- Green -> Music only
Cheers data68 Hello, I like this suggestion and have personally requested this (but modified to a more correct version) and also to change the current location of the shortcut to the top, or at least above 'Files Manager'. We already had this discussion and we had different opinions in our team prior to release. Will forward the majority request from your feedback to our developers to raise this question again. This is a request, not a promise at the moment Thanks

 Re: [Official] Firmware_Playon!HD Mini2_PV73800_v9.5.5.r5311
Hello everyone,
Some quick answers to some of the issues/questions in this thread:
Work group disappears? Enable/Disable 'Setup>Network>Samba'. If this keeps happening, restart your whole router/network environment. Send me a PM if not solvable. You can probably use 'Files Manager>Network>My shortcut -> Press 'Menu' add IP to destination for now. Not able to reproduce this with our routers/networks.
Not displaying more than 15x subtitles when pressing 'Subtitle'? This has been reported and hopefully fixed soon.
Bluray/DVD folder playback? = Just press '>Play' on your remote control while selected the folder of the movie. No need to manually go and find the files in the structure.
Br,
