Okay I have the following problem, I can't seem to view anything from my network. I have the Playon Essential with the latest firmware (V5.44.r1964) and bought the "Essential Wireless N usb adapter" (ACR-WN10002).

The wifi USB dongle has been detected perfectly and I can connect to my router (same IP range, subnetmask, etc. as PC). So far nothing wrong.

I have shared a few drives and folders on my Windows 7 64-bit PC by following a few posts (for example: ) on this forum on how to share with Windows 7 and I even installed the PlayonHD reg file. Firewall has been deactivated on both the router and under Windows.

So after this everything should work right? After navigating to the "Files Manager" in my Playon Essential and choosing "Network", I only get to see "My_Shortcuts". In this screen, I should see my network/ computer right? Even after entering the "My_Shortcuts folder" and add a shortcut manually by entering the following fields: Username (my Windows username), Password (my Windows password) and Specific File Server IP (the internal IP address of my PC with the files I have shared - for example: 192.168.123.110) and press OK.

So opening the new shortcut I manually created, I get a "Network Login" where I have to enter my password again. After entering my password again, I get a login error.....

Another strange thing is that I thought you can see the Playon Essential in your network on my Windows 7 PC under Multimedia devices or computers but it isn't appearing at all.

Could someone please help me out?

Okay fixed it by installing a harddrive (I bought the Essential without a harddrive) and reflashing the firmware. This one can be closed.

Turn on your firewalls again!
