I am new to the forum though I've had a PlayonHD (with internal 2TB) since July this year. Since then, I've had no problems and have updated configured YAMJ on the machine fine. I am running firmware r4368.

Last week I ran YAMJ to update my movie database but when I selected the index file, I got a "Read Only" error. I've tried everything from re-running YAMJ to installing all the firmware releases from r3582 through to r4368 but to no avail. I even tried changing the permissions on the HDD1 folder using my Windows 7 (x64) machine but the change in permissions do not take effect. I can view the movies by using the Playon HD browser ok but YAMJ does not work. I can view the index files on the pc and by using the 1024 port on the media player.

I've trawled through the forum and the internet for a solution to no avail. Any help in resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Hi All,

I've resolved the issue after many hours of troubleshooting. I connected my Playon HD device to my laptop using a USB cable and ran CHKDSK with error fixing on it. After a few hours (about 6) it came back reporting that a number of errors were found and fixed.

After that, I ran YAMJ on it and Voila!, all is now working fine. I suspect that part of the hard drive had become corrupted.

I hope this posting helps others on the forum.

I've the same problem with my Mini. Unfortunately, the execution of a checkdisk on my network HD didn't solve the problem.

Please reply, if you have a solution for this problem.

By the way: I can read the html file on my computer (It looks fine for me, but my mini can't handle this file (READ ONLY error).

I've resolved the issue after many hours of Headache .My Device: Playon!HD (DVR+GUI2)
i connected my external H.D.D to my pc using a USB cable and run CHKDSK /F (with error fix)
My movies folder was Films(Divx) i renamed it to Films...
why? :
chars like ( [ ) ] and some others must delete from your files and folders names (test Which chars yourself)...
i updated my jukebox and it fixed
(yes you can update your jukebox now to)
How? :
2 files:
ACR_Library.xml and ACR_YAMJ.cmd in your A.CRyan jukebox dir
edit those 2 files with a notepad (editpad pro is good):
change the paths only:
old path:
<path>K:\Films(Divx)</path>
<playerpath>file://../Films(Divx)</playerpath>
to this new pad
<path>K:\Films</path>
<playerpath>file://../Films</playerpath>;
And Update Your JukeBox Useing ACR_YAMJ.cmd again.

Now some movies can't play and said (No Video file!) erro
i fixed that to:

i had a movie named (Film [2009]).avi
i renamed to Film2009.avi And Fixed

at the end
i used this software to rename all my files and folders names:
(Portable Kristanix File Renamer Turbo v2.70)
use Add Files in Folder to add all files in subfolders

(and remember i had not files like this:
Films\MovieFolder\Movie1.avi and another file: Films\MovieFolder\EXTRAsubfolder\Movie2.avi
Subfolder in Subfolder Must work,,, but i didn't test so...)

A little clarity on the 'Read Only' message
The AC Ryan Jukebox implementation does not use the jukebox files directly. but writes its own .rss files based on the jukebox content, which it uses to drive the Jukebox interface. The .rss files are stored in the Jukebox directory, hence the need for a share / dive with read/write capability
