Hello - has the uPnP problem with windows XP been fixed in this release. ie. playing the selected audio and video instead of the wrong ones.

I've recently received my mini2 and installed the latest firmware before first use, so cannot comment on changes since last FW.

However, I can confirm that it hasn't really been an enjoyable experience so far, and without this forum the mini2 would be in tiny bits at the bottom of a trash can.

I've resolved a number of issues so far (CEC interference PIN 13, mapping NAS shares to USB folders, getting indexing to work for home screen Movies/Photos/Music links).

What I am very frustrated about though is the inability to play .avi files over an NFS share. Given the majority of my video collection is in .avi format. I guess i could do my mount/bind stuff using CIFS, but I do have a bit of a phobia when it comes to putting login details within a script.

So currently, my only alternative is a 7-8 level navigation exercise to get at my videos.

The mini2 is certainly an excellent media player - I have no issues with picture or sound quality. If the interface/shares/NFS etc issues could get ironed out, it would be an excellent network media player.

I'd appreciate any news there might be on fixing the .avi over NFS issue. I see that the latest BETA release still has this issue.

This is a reproduce able issue and we have forwarded this to our developers to take a look/fix. No feedback yet when this might be fixed. There is currently no workaround to play these files over NFS protocol at the moment.

Re-reading my original post, I notice it seemed a bit negative. To anyone I might have put off getting a Mini2 - it is still an excellent player and plays pretty much anything you throw at it (and from a NAS if you use CIFS shares).

I believe there are already plans to make the home screen editable in a future firmware release, allowing you to place shortcuts directly there. Once this happens, navigation will become less of a chore and once avi over NFS is sorted (I believe this may need Realtek involvement), the Mini2 will really stand out from the crowd!

FYI,

it's correct the problem with playing .avi files via NFS mounted shares needs some involvement from Realtek so it's not quite sure at this point if we can fix it in the next firmware release.

Please try to reflash it in safe-mode according to our firmware upgrade guide. Also make sure you have the correct firmware version for the mini2.
