Arne wrote: dutchblutch wrote: I installed the firmware in the safe mode already. That's why I was surprised it connected to my samba server without asking for a username and password. Is there another way to remove this account so I can enter a new username and password? Best regards. Must be a setting on your server side than. In Win7 check if you have password protected sharing off for example. There is a couple of how-to's here as well in our hd1 forum on how to setup the proper sharing settings etc. for different windows versions. If you use linux check your permissions in samba config. best regards, Hi Arne, I'm having simular problems after updating to r3966. I used to connect to my Windows XP machine through wifi. But after the update, I can't see my shares anymore. I followed your suggestion by using the safe-mode update to reset everything, but when I try to connect to "WORKGROUP", there isn't a prompt for username and password, just a blank screen without any networkdrives. Since I'm not the only one, I'm guessing this is software related. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm also having issues with connecting to Samba shares with this firmware (worked with the previous one - AND shortcuts created with the old firmware STILL works)
If I browse to "Network" I can see my shares but it wont accept my (correct) credentials when I enter them !

If I browse to "Network" I can see my shares but it wont accept my (correct) credentials when I enter them ! Please do check if there is an empty space when entering your username. You will need to erase this space first with the 'STOP' button before you enter your username otherwise it will result in an incorrect login! cheers,

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73800_v9.5.5.r3966
I have downgraded again to original firmware from feb and it worked for a while but audio keeps shutting down randomly I thought at first it was something with the way I disconnect my WD passport 500 GB external harddisk but that's not it. I watched tv today audio worked shut down the system and tv and came back an hour later and the audio was gone again.
See my previous post for my setup.

I tried all the mentioned fixes already: - safe firmware update -> doesn't do any good - remove space for password -> does not apply since I'm not prompted for username and password Am I missing something here?
