Yes you have two options wired and wireless

By wired you can see the ipnumber the pohd has been recieved

I am new to the forum so please be gentle:)

I used to have a wireless router provided by my internet provider with which my playon!hd player was able to successfully stream movies from my local network. After a while I decided to change the internet provider to a better one that was unfortunately not providing any router so I brought my own from my other apartment that is a linksys wrt54gl. After connecting the PC to it (windows xp sp3) via lan and the player via wifi I am able to see the workgroup and my PC inside it but every time I try to access it I get a popup for network id and password and every combination I have tried ends up with logon failed.

Any suggestions will be be greatly appreciated.

Hi. I've just gotten a PlayOn HD, and got it working. However, I've come to a problem. When I try to log into the folders I've share with the PlayOn HD, it asks me for the user name and password. I think I know what the network password is, but I don't know what the username is. I've tried my Windows login name, the name of the network, and I keep getting login failure. Please help!

Yeah, I followed the tutorial, and everything is appearing on the PlayOn HD. All the shared folders appear, and I can find what I'm looking for. The thing is, when I double click on the folders with the media in it, and the PlayOn asks me for username and password, this is where I'm hitting a wall.

Do I enter the username and password for when I log into Windows? Because my media is stored on a different internal harddrive than my Windows 7 install.

Or do I enter the homegroup name and password? I know what the homegroup password is, but I don't know the username. I set up the homegroup ages ago for use with an XBox 360, and don't recall the username, if there is one!

Sorry if this is a bit of a noob problem. If the username is something different to above, do you know where I might be able to find it out?

If im correct you have a windows account on your pc

Use that account with WW

if you have use the everyone account to give share rights on folders and done everything als mentioned in the Youtube and tutorial you don't have to type anything
