Create a account give this read rights on the shares and when the second login screeb comes fill in the login data from that account you gave read rights on that share.

Like me i have a account kraakie with password test and that has read rights on share name D wich is my D drive.

When i login to my pc i don't fill in anything then i see my shares on the ryan i select the D share and fill in as login kraakie with password test

Works fine :)

Post Re: [HOW TO] Share Folders on Windows 7
Hi, I cannot log on to access my windows 7 pc on my network. I have the playonhd on an ethernet connection to my adsl modem/router. My other pc on this same network is windows XP and I can access that just fine in both directions. I can also access the shared folders on the windows 7 pc from the windows XP pc no worries.

I have tried changing the advanced sharing options and also the registry changes with no luck whatsoever. It just sais logon failed everytime I try to access the windows 7 pc. I know I have the correct username and password as they work when I access it from the windows XP pc.

Please help me!

First do you have static ipnrs or do you use the dchp option in your router
Wich ipnr does your Ryan have ?

is your windows 7 pc removed from the homegroep or in dutch thuisgroep ?

I have the randomly assigned IP's they are all fine. The windows 7 comp doesnt have a homegroup set up as that is only for a network with other windows 7 computers and my other one is XP. I am not sure what "dutch thuisgroep" was supposed to mean?

Thuisgroep is same as Homegroup ;)

Did you do all the steps including the reg tweaks ?

If so look at the ryan if you see the Workgroup when you use the browse option

If you see the workgroup and the Pc with windows 7 select it.
it will prompt for login.

Just fill in nothing
After sucesfull login you will see your shares.
In the advanced sharing you added a user to have read rights on that share
Click on the share and when the second logon appears fill in that user details (username and password)

If you do it al right the Ryan will logon into the share.

Definetly have done everything in the how to post including reg changes and still no log in.

I do see the windows 7 pc in the workgroup and have tried filling nothing in to log in. Still no success. Have tried every possible combination of username password I can think of. All I am guessing now is that win 7 has some hidden username password somewhere that I cant see.

Did you add user evryone only or everyone and another user

I have everyone and my own account added to have read rights on the share
