Trying to play http and mms streams from other RTK player
I opened a topic requesting ACRyan to implement mms and http streams by default (
viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4792). Asus O!play already has that feature so I'm sure they also can do it.
In the meanwhile I would like to make it work on hacked firmwares. I downloaded latest oplay firmware and I could see that:
1- In /usr/local/bin/scripts/menu.rss file on asus firmware has an entry that says
Code:
<item>
<title>Internet TV</title>
<onClick>
<script>
showIdle();
null;
</script>
</onClick>
<!--<link>rss_file://./scripts/tv_menu.rss</link>-->
<link>rss_file://./scripts/tv_favorite.rss</link>
<media:thumbnail url="image/asus/TV.png" width="120" height="90" />
</item>
2-In /usr/local/bin/scripts you also can find the files tv_category.rss, tv_favorite.rss, tv_menu.rss, tv_search.rss, tv_station.rss
3- In /usr/local/bin you can find the channels on files TVStationFavorite and TVStationUrl
4-What I did:
I added the first item to the menu.rss and copied the files of point 2 and 3 to their respective locations on my POHD.
I went to Internet TV section, but there wasn't any channel, so I copied TVStationFavorite and TVStationUrl to /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer and I went again to Internet TV. Now I could see some channels for less than a second (I didn't even have time to read the channel names) and the POHD made a quick reboot (no hangs, after 3 seconds the player was usable again).
I didn't test anymore, but I will this afternoon. Maybe it didn't worked because it's necessary to do some changes to DvdPlayer or simply because the rss files have to be edited. Any help?
