Post Trying to play http and mms streams from other RTK player
I opened a topic requesting ACRyan to implement mms and http streams by default (viewtopic.php?f=43&t=4792). Asus O!play already has that feature so I'm sure they also can do it.
In the meanwhile I would like to make it work on hacked firmwares. I downloaded latest oplay firmware and I could see that:

1- In /usr/local/bin/scripts/menu.rss file on asus firmware has an entry that says
Code:
<item>
    <title>Internet TV</title>
    <onClick>
        <script>
        showIdle();
        null;
        </script>
    </onClick>
    <!--<link>rss_file://./scripts/tv_menu.rss</link>-->
    <link>rss_file://./scripts/tv_favorite.rss</link>
    <media:thumbnail url="image/asus/TV.png" width="120" height="90" />
</item>

2-In /usr/local/bin/scripts you also can find the files tv_category.rss, tv_favorite.rss, tv_menu.rss, tv_search.rss, tv_station.rss
3- In /usr/local/bin you can find the channels on files TVStationFavorite and TVStationUrl

4-What I did:
I added the first item to the menu.rss and copied the files of point 2 and 3 to their respective locations on my POHD.
I went to Internet TV section, but there wasn't any channel, so I copied TVStationFavorite and TVStationUrl to /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer and I went again to Internet TV. Now I could see some channels for less than a second (I didn't even have time to read the channel names) and the POHD made a quick reboot (no hangs, after 3 seconds the player was usable again).

I didn't test anymore, but I will this afternoon. Maybe it didn't worked because it's necessary to do some changes to DvdPlayer or simply because the rss files have to be edited. Any help?

Titooo,

Could you paste example XML directly linking to mms?

My workaround for mms+rtmp (optware required):
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1225177/metafeeds/rss_streamer
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1225177/metafeeds/mplayer
Example url : http://127.0.0.1/cgi-bin/rss_streamer?u ... sf&fmt=asf

I don't have the time to explain it right now :(.
Someone else : Please finish+fix this and make a howto;).

vonck, it seems a little bit more dificult. The rss files don't have stream links. It links to files that have the links inside.
Take a look at the content of the zip file attached:
5 rss files (located in /usr/local/bin/scripts)
TVStationFavorite & TVStationUrl files (located in /usr/local/bin)

I have created a hacked fw to test for myself adding those files to their respective locations, but I go to Internet TV and all I don't see channels.
If I copy TVStationFavorite & TVStationUrl files to /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer/ and I go to Internet TV I can see some channels very quickly, so quick that I dont even have time to read a channel name.

PS: Why I copied those 2 files to /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer? I saw in DvdPlayer that the files seems to be copied there in some part of the process

I don't understand russian but it seems that TVStationUrl and TVStationFavorite are not the only files in asus o!play related to Internet TV:http://forum.ixbt.com/topic.cgi?id=62:15513:1991

I'm not in my computer so I can't test anything, but MAYBE if we put IRxStationUrl, IRxStationFavorite, TVStationUrl and TVStationFavorite in /usr/local/etc/dvdplayer there won't be any reboot.... :think:
