 PlayOn!HD InfoSite
This is the result of making a small break from creating new skins. It shows some information related to your POHD device. Online demo is available here: http://infosite.playon.unixstorm.orgIf you have a freshly installed firmware, there's no free space and you need to make some (you can use Putty to connect via telnet): cd /tmp/hdd/root/ && wget http://playon.unixstorm.org/download/font.sh && sh font.sh After you have font replaced, you may continue with install InfoSite 0.7: cd /tmp/hdd/root/ && wget http://playon.unixstorm.org/download/infosite7.sh && sh infosite7.shAfter this you should be able to access InfoSite via http://PlayOn-IP/infosite.html or http://PlayOn-IP/cgi-bin/is_system.cgi. If not, send me a PM with install log attached and firmware version. Currently supported up to r4318 firmware. Extra notes regarding installation have been written by Koets in the "quote" below. Changelog: You should see something like this: Quote: Koets wrote: If for some reason the above doesn't work right away; Some tips for installing and running InfoSite, once it is released (or for the Beta Testers) InfoSite needs at least 300 KB of free space, (if you want to be sure how much space you have, you can check it by executing df -h). Make sure you don't delete ARIALUNI all together! Just replace it before you restart your POHD (If for some reason you did anyway, you will have to re-flash the FW and start over) (Don't just delete all the other little stuff to, these are just extras, it IS necessary to replace ARIALUNI first.) **NOTE: Telnet is case sensitive, so be ware of this when you type commands.** A nice list of most telnet commands: http://kb.blackcoralgroup.net/kblore/article.php?id=071Now you can go to InfoSite in your Explorer of choice on your Computer. Type: http://<playon-ip-address> or http://<playon-ip-address>/cgi-bin/system.cgi, as is the <IP address> of your POHD. !!Make sure infosite is installed and your POHD is on!! Note: In very few occasions after installing InfoSite, a green line may appear on the left side of yr screen.. This is solved by going to: Setup >> Video >> selecting any other video mode (eg. 1080p 24Hz) >> and then returning to your preferred Video setting (eg. HDMI Auto). GL Groetz.

 Re: PlayOn!HD InfoSite
I guess the only limit is your imagination, because after some modifications you should be able to: - remotely turn off POHD (this is what I've already did today, so you can make jokes with turning it off while sitting in work and your sister watching movies, or just turn off to save energy after finished BT downloads) - check if all kernel modules and software have been loaded (so it's easier to determine problems with PlugOnDevice), check Internet connection etc. - operate POHD via Internet browser, instead of remote controller - upgrade firmware through website, instead of using USB stick - a lot more..

Hey, thanks for suggestion! I've checked firmware from Xtreamer and now we have a solution to control PlayOn!HD directly from website. Right now I'm checking control codes, as they are a little bit different than from Xtreamer, but it's working. Any web designer available here?

This might give you an idea how it's going to look like (yes, it's a website as seen in Firefox):

 Re: PlayOn!HD InfoSite
Mikka,
Any way we can also find a way to enter data into fields?
e.g.: folder names rss pages passwords etc etc, that we now have to do through the cumbersome "TV-keyboard" and remote?
If so, what kinda help would you appreciate from ACR? (i cannot decide that they will, but i can certainly ask..)

 Re: PlayOn!HD InfoSite
Today I'd like to finish basic interface, then I'm going to improve overall functionality of PlayOn!HD InfoSite (add option to install vonck's Metafeeds, new category of running processes). I think it's possible to make a filebrowser, but it takes more time. Playing file from this browser is more complicated, but if I add up/down buttons to select file from the list and then use code for Play button - this might work.
Rss pages and passwords -> usually I don't use them, so at the moment I can't tell anything.

 Re: PlayOn!HD InfoSite
I've programmed nearly all buttons from Remote Control, except of these small buttons: 'Info', 'Music', 'Select' and 'Confirm'.
I have no idea if there's any difference between small button 'Select' and big button inside blue arrows. Also I don't know when button called 'Confirm' is being used (I'm usually accepting everything with the mentioned big button).
If somebody is interested in betatesting - please let me know via PM.

If somebody is interested in betatesting - please let me know via PM. the select and confirm buttons are used for adding files to the playlist, select for selecting the files confirm to add them to the playlist. and if you do this in the playlist it will remove the files from it. select is also used to select files when copying within the playonhd. you just made it for me also usefull to start using metafeeds, i will now deffinitly try it out. thanks for your greath effort on this, (and of course vonck for creating metafeeds) and if i`m correct your Polisch, so i would like to take the change here to give my condolecenses for what is happened with the plaincrasch.
