Really cool skin! You are like a professional designer! But I think that it is better to refuse *.png format - inconvenient menu delay... Maybe mikka will guess the compression method of *. bmp files that ACRyan use and the size of picture files will not be a problem!

viom: my guess was they are compressed with Microwindows utility, but it's something else so it still remains as mystery. I will ask junwei about it.

New menu design in FW r4107 compare to old design. IMO

  • New design have more icon but small icon size.
  • New design have small graphic area than old menu. So I can't use big graphic.
  • When i use png format trick (for save FW disk space). Menu render is extreme slow.
    Old menu design have larger graphic size and load graphic much faster.
  • Still have black area. So i can't use full screen color background.

i update BB Skin to work with FW r4107. BB Skin V2 Skin file.Download Here

For people who want to create you own skin. This file may help you.
BB Skin V2 Photoshop file. Download Here.
(ps: i use slice tool to split image area.)

Original Skin size is 1.5MB. But BB Skin V2 size is 3.2MB.
So you much have additional 1.7M FW space to use this Skin.
and Replace file in "/usr/local/bin/Resource/bmp"

Follow file i save in png format then rename it to bmp.

havent tried it yet, looks really though. keep up the good work.

now while it seems tough to modify the pics, could i del one so it doesnt get shown at all anymore (without an error msg)? thinking about the pretty damn ugly boot logo here
