Post Stripped Firmware version
HI Guys,

Does anybody know if there is a firmware which has most functions taken out like.

FTP,
torrents
Youtube,
Internet radio.

Name it.

Just want it to be able to connect to my network and jukebox function.

Thanx
Bas

That would be nice if it would improve the speed of the new 2.0 GUI. Not sure why the new code is such a slow dog. They mention memory space but unlike a normal OS, once the firmware is loaded nothing else uses memory in the NVRAM chip.

Thats my whole idea.

I'm not using any of the optional features.

Not using RSS feeds. cause isn't something you can change in an instance.
Youtube Webradio, Flickr I all watch via my TV or Home Cinema set

Torrents, i prefer usenet and as said before the unit is already lacking processing power.
Then load it a bit more with a BT client????
I have sabnzdb running on my nas. 1.6GHz processor.
When downloading tops out on 90% cpu load. :o

GUI2 is no option since it my jukebox setup is not working on it, Created via tvixie
Can't handle the index file.? It's a shame cause really liked the new improved interface made more sense.

I saw the playon x version created by mikka.
Looks nice but as far as i can see its modded to be able to load more programs on it.
Correct me if im wrong
And that the opposite of the goal I'm trying to achieve.

If i had the skills i would give it a go but
I really not in to programming on linux thats something i still need to learn,
currently improving vb sql and oracle skills.

So if anyone could point to a really good howto or an allready existing creation.
would be really pleased.

Bas, :D

Edit:

@ Matt
Or am I misunderstanding your statement and your telling that it wont help??

abou last named firmware here,
be carefull and do this on the forumboard that released it,
so not on the ACryan forum board.

there will be a risk that the other development community sub forum will be closed,
if any or more redirections or discussion about other branded firmware,
is found from now on.

remember that this subforum is created for those that do
great work for our players like nice apps,
some very nice customised firmwares,
but all dveloped from the original acryan firmware,
all other firmware discussions or links are not allowed here.

please keep them away from the acryan forumboard,
as it was the first agreement with the first user-developers,
to create this subforum.

so they would have a own space to talk and discuss the developemnet about
all customised firmware and software,
as long as they would be based on the original acryan firmwares.

;)
