I have a Fantec FHDS and don't want to use the Fantec Firmware!!!
With the v2 SDK releases it was easy to bring the PlayOn!HD firmwares to my FHDS by simply copying the install_a from fantec to acryan firmware.
This also works for the installation of the ne v3 SDK firmwares.
But after installation I get: "Sorry... this firmware is not working with this hardware"
Everything is fine with the firmware and it should normally work on FHDS.
But seems, that ACRyan has included a new hardware detection.
Is anybody able to give me a hint (or even a FHDS working firmware)?
I really want to use the latest v3 4824 firmware from acryan!

@steefen.h: Shouldn't be hard to do. You have 2 options.

1) Use the mikka firmware from this part of the forum

Or give this a try. Decoding the firmware.

1) Download the AC Ryan firmware
2) Untar the img file to a folder
3) Decode the package2/squashfs1.upg using this sites info http://playonhd.ucoz.ru/publ/prodvinuty ... x/5-1-0-23
4) Edit the Configuration.xml (probably want to rename squashfs1.upg to squashfs1.img anyway should match the decoderd file in the pakage2 folder)
5) Tar the firware back together and your done.

What you are actually doing is removing the encoding from the squashfs partition


Anyways most competitor firmware are based on the same realtek foundation so don't expect miracles

I thought mikka is using the ACRyan install_a and that's why it blocks to install as well.
replacing the install_a by a fantec one hasn't worked as well...because of the hardware detection after successfull install on every boot....

Even if I decode the squashfs1 and unsquash it, I can't find the built in hardware detection to disable it...

After successfull install it always says:
"Sorry... this firmware is not working with this hardware"

The error "Sorry... this firmware is not working with this hardware" made me replace my AC Ryan POHD once and the error isn't nessecarily a hardware detection bug. Look it up in the forum.
