Probably only on the weekend, though, but I'll give it a go on Rev.4 and report back Nah, you don't have to do it as it will most likely be the same as in Revision 3. What I can't understand is that file copy on the very same firmware: a) For Still it works for English names, but doesn't for other (like Hebrew) b) For me it works with all files Can you please make a quick try of file copy with current firmware if reboot happens will all files (new option - c) or only with non-English (option a)

Quote: we don't have yellow, red etc. buttons in remote All buttons are available on my remote (for the Playon!DVR-HD), but only the arrows, 'goto' and 'ok' buttons work .. Luckily most functions can be controlled this way.

Sorry, I meant the other media player remote control - we don't have these buttons in PlayOn!HD and PlayOn!DVR can use different codes. Like I've said, try remapping directly in xVoD.

Re: PlayOn!X firmware (Optware friendly r4824)
Tried to update myS (unhashed start swap) via the editor tab in Infosite, got the message it was finished but after a reboot the POHD hung. Had to reflash the firmware the emergency way. After fresh install of firmware PlayOn!X_rev4, sh pohd-mount-ext3 everything worked ok, until I tried to update myS again (unhashed sbin to tune system). Anyone else has the same issue?
update: Shutdown via Infosite did not work, via telnet (poweroff) it did, but the blue light stays on.

Anyone else has the same issue? 1) You must extract swap file into internal NTFS partition according instructions 2) sysctl (so called 'tuning system' option) is only for experienced users. In sysctl.conf there's a warning about it - I'll put extra warning in InfoSite's Editor or even disable completely in future to prevent this kind of issues

I looked at instances of 'userInput', and besides other buttons also '1', '2' ... are called, which are definitely available on my remote. Still none of these shows any reaction ... When installing xLive some weeks ago, I also remember that I had to simplify 'menu.rss' and remove all 'userInput' calls. Is it possible that the A.C.Ryans compared to other media players have a limited rss-command range?

Re: PlayOn!X firmware (Optware friendly r4824)
You have to ask A.C. Ryan what they've included in DvdPlayer, but looking on past - it's possible.
But what happens in xVoD is probably something else: even if you have the same buttons on remote, they can have different names in DvdPlayer. Somebody told me that userinput 2 in the-other-media player, is userinput two in PlayOn!HD and this type of things you have to replace.

mikka wrote: Can you please make a quick try of file copy with current firmware if reboot happens will all files (new option - c) or only with non-English (option a) Ok, first test: USB stick (2GB) formatted as FAT and NTFS (tried both ways) File structure: Code: . |-- abcd | |-- DSC_0172.JPG | `-- xpto | `-- DSC_0172.JPG `-- Canção à portuguesa (copy) |-- ÊC Fà.JPG `-- Escansão `-- DSC_0172.JPG All folders copy just fine to ext3 (/dev/sda4) mounted All folders copy just fine to ntfs (/dev/sda1) mounted => I'm not able to reproduce the problem, now. However, I'm not giving up. I have three more test cases that have been intriguing me: 1. Greater folder depth and/or probably very large number of folders (eating up memory on the recursive copy routine, or even maybe too large of a file name (including path component). 2. Use external 2.5" HDD (no external power supply). I had use cases that led me to suspect that the POHD's supply can't handle it all 3. use a corrupted ntfs destination. This one is probably tough to reproduce... Only option 1 could ever have anything to do with different FW from mikka, although I suspect not even that... When I have a bit more time, I'll report back. Meanwhile, if anyone can test these cases, I'll be freed for the weekend Regs

This one I can test, I'm anyway testing a new tool for checking NTFS partition directly on POHD (no more taking out HDD and plugging into PC to fix errors), so can check both at the same time. Thanks for checking This makes whole situation even more crazy.

Please make clear in the PlayOn!X installation instruction what is relevant; the partiton type of the location OR the location itself. My opt.tar and scripts.zip were only recognized by Infosite when they were copied to my HDD1. btw: I copied the pohd-mount-ext3 file to USB, then the mounting procedure is not depended anymore on the availability of http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1225177/metafee ... mount-ext3 and the telnet procedure is a bit more simple: Code: cd /tmp/hdd/root/ cp /tmp/usbmounts/sdb1/pohd-mount-ext3 /tmp/hdd/root/ sh pohd-mount-ext3
