IMDb search plugin - how to identify the movies
Hi,
I'm pretty excited for the YAMJ plugin and since I have quite some movies I would like to know how exactly the plugin will identify the movies? Do I need to have one NFO-File for each movie in a folder? What do I need to put into that file? What about movies in AVCHD or BD folder structure?
THX

Check out the file naming convention. I tried executing yamj and it generated the files correctly

YAMJ has been developed to try an minimise the renaming of files, however there are some conventions that should be followed to maximise your "hit rate". Read this wiki page for more information: http://code.google.com/p/moviejukebox/wiki/FileNamingHowever, generally speaking, the title from the IMDb page (including the year) is sufficient for YAMJ to find it.

Yeap. Referred to this last weekend while doing a one time effort of renaming. Pretty cool!

Re: IMDb search plugin - how to identify the movies
Can YAMJ differentiate between an SD and HD movie? I like to have a Bluray cover on my HD rips.
Thanks
David

Re: IMDb search plugin - how to identify the movies
Thats good, so no need to name an HD file any differently to an SD file.

Re: IMDb search plugin - how to identify the movies
No, but you can add in tags like the source of the file (BluRay, Dvd, etc.) and skins can display this too. These can also be set in a NFO file which is compatible with the XBMC format.

Re: IMDb search plugin - how to identify the movies
Is it correct for yamj if i have a folder structure like this:
movies\the dark knight\the dark knight (2009).mkv movies\the dark knight\the dark knight (2009).srt movies\300\300 (2009).mkv movies\300\300 (2009).srt
Or do i have to place the mkv/srt directly under movies?
And how does it work if you have for example this:
movies/watchmen/watchmen/bdmv/stream/00116 and a lot more m2ts files in here. Do i rename the biggest m2ts file in here watchmen (2009)? So i will get movies/watchmen/watchmen/bdmv/stream/watchmen (2009)
How far does yamj look into a folder structure?
