 Episode lengths - MediaInfo
Will the following obtain and write the correct episode times to the YAMJ database/xml if set to true?
# Have mediainfo pull meta data tags from media files # This data, if enabled, will override data in the NFO file # Valid values are: true, false mediainfo.metadata.enable=false
Will any changes be made to the NFO files?
The reason that I ask this is that most runtimes from thetvdb.com are incorrect as they allow for the advertising during the live broadcast, ie a 60 min runtime is usually 42 mins without ads.
As an aside, the actual runtime has decreased by 10 minutes over the last 10 years as I have some series that started 10 years ago that have a 52 min runtime = 10 mins more advertising in a 1 hour broadcast.
No wonder people are going to Media Players and downloading the ad-free episodes.

Never, ever enable that option. It will cause YAMJ to sell your children (even the ones you don't have) and setup a drug cartel in your basement. /jk
The basic premise behind using theTVDb runtime rather than the actually runtime was that the series only shows 1 runtime, and often the first episode in a series/season is a double episode and so you can get the wrong information on screen.
At least if it says "60 mins" on screen you know it's actually 42ish.

I'm glad I asked first instead of my usual bull-at-a-gate approach of trying it. The children wouldn't have appreciate it but at some times, selling them has seemed am eminently fine idea. I can get around it by editing the NFO files to what I want. (Have done this in some cases already to ones like "Band of Brothers" where the total series run time is used.) Thanks Big O

The problem with that setting is that it's an all or nothing setting. It reads the information from the movie in a similar fashion to an ID3 tag for music, the issue is really that there is never good information returned by that function, so you end up with dross.
