Go to the Finder and choose from the top menu 'Go -> Connect to Server'
Or just the shortcut keys : Command-K
Command = Image

On the next screen fill in as serveraddress :

smb://x.x.x.x (ipaddress of your POHD for example smb://192.168.178.22)

Press Connect button and on the next screen choose Connect as guest.

If you want to access your files on your Mac over your network on your POHD.
First check this :

http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=4225

After this on your POHD go to network -> My shortcuts
Press the menubutton, choose Add

Fill in the username and password you created on your Mac
and also fill in the IP address of your Mac.

Now you should be able to access your files on your Mac

Works for me....

Post Re: How to connect Mac Pro to AC Ryan HD
I have spent many nights, a hole lot of hours and still not succesfull in watching my playon with my Imac.

Yes I have seen my playon sometimes and yesterday afternoon for a couple of hours, I put a lot of files on my via usb to my playon mini connected hd.

this is a machine where you have to find out a lot by yourself, if you have questions your detaillist is answering: I don't know.

So how is it possible that I yesterday afternoon was able to work for a couple of hours and all f a sudden my playon was not the any more on my Imac?

On my playon mini  is not there. Somebody mentioned that there is a button with samba on it but not for me, Samba is not there on my screen of my plasma.

If I have made a shortcuts my playon doesn't remembering anything!!!!!

when I am pinging my Imac is seeing the playon.

I've followed the steps in connecting my Mac to POHD with the IP address but it says connection failed.

it asks me to check the server name or ip address but I've checked them and it is correct.

any solution on this?

make a shortcut in the menu of your playon putting the ip adres of your mac.

this has solved my problem.

otherwise you can put the firmware on the hard way on your playon.

I think as soon as you can see the playon on your mac you should be able to see all of your files on your mac with your playon.

of course you have to share your files on your disk

Post Re: How to connect Mac Pro to AC Ryan HD
Hi, here's another poor soul trying to connect his iMac to the PlayOn.

I managed to get FTP working - sometimes.

What I have not managed is to get access through Windows sharing aka SMB.

One of the earlier posters said "on your POHD go to network -> My shortcuts".
Problem 1: I do not see anything about shortcuts in the "network" menu.

Problem 2: I've created a special playon user, granted sharing through SMB in iMac's settings, still my PlayOn will not connect to it. "Login failed".

Problem 3: trying to access the PlayOn on my iMac via Go -> Connect to server -> smb://<ip address> fails.

Can someone from AC Ryan support please create a simple step-by-step description on how to connect an iMac to PlayOn? This should be better than a nbunch of links to articles which relate to the problems, but do not solve it. Thanks.

(Note: I am a different 'rainman' ;-)

-iMac running OSX 10.5, wireless connection to router.
-PlayOn latest firmware, wired connection to router.
