Post Hickups during playbacks
Hi,

I've recently bought the POHD2 with an internat 2TB hd (Sept. 2011) and have downloaded lots of nice music and video's. Unforunately in the music files (both flac & mp3) after approx 10 sec. a hick-up is noticed. This is very annoying. And what ever setting i tried, i can't seem to get that fixed.

For the video part i'm really disappointed. Whatever type of movie i download, divx, mkv, avi, complete dvd's both 4 and 8 Gb versions, as well a a blue-ray type, i keep getting green barsflickering at random once every 4 ... 5 seconds.. as well as trailed visuals, for which i mean that the picture is replicating itself like a mouse with a trailer function, but then the whole screen..

At the moment i'm not using the POHD2 with files from an external source, but i'm copying them from my pc to the POHD2 harddisk (everything is 1Gb lines, pc, hubs' cabeling... but with a terrible speed.)

I've tried all the settings available and a lot of hints from this forum.

Now after 5 month, buying all new cables, the original network adapter, buying nuw hubs and 300N acces points. I'm giving up.

Why is my unit doing this... PS. I also upgraded (half feb.2012) to the latest version of firmware, but again no luck..

Thanks in advance for the help,

Michiel

If you have the problems and artefacts when playing from the internal hard disk, your unit is defective.
Streaming media over a wireless network is not a very good idea:
Quote:
Wireless networking is generally not reliable enough for streaming HD video, therefore it is not recommended for Media Players. We are not saying that it won't work, just that you may encounter stuttering / lag problems. Of course, using Wi-Fi to copy files across a network will work fine. For this reason most Media Players omit Wi-Fi from their specifications and instead offer optional support via a USB dongle.

The maximum data transfer rate for Wi-Fi(g) is 54 Mbit/s with actual achievable rates usually being less than half of this. Wi-Fi(n) can achieve higher data transfer rates of up to 300 Mbit/s but, again, actual rates will be lower.

Correct Evert,

It keeps beeing very slow. I have counted today a 360 Mb. file from a pc to the POHD2 took 7 minutes.
I will try to get back to Norrod, Groningen . Try to see if they will help me, i haven't got the invoice anymore.

We'll see,

Thanks for the help

Michiel
