The remote's transmission range is kinda short...

The signal can't seem to reach the DVR from further than 2m away. Funny thing is, a blue LED on the machine flashes to show incoming remote transmission but just doesn't process the signal.

In other words, within 2 metres, press remote, LED flash, DVR performs command.

Further than 2 metres, press remote, LED flash, DVR sits there do nothing looking pretty.

Bro, we tried at a range more than 2 metres, I think ~5 metres from where we tried. The set do picks up every command that we hit at the remote.

DVB-T problem redux...

I can receive Digital 5, 8, CNA and TV Mobile... HD5 is also on my list when I did an autoscan.

However, when I switch to it, it just gets sound and no image. I believe someone else here has the same problem.

Bro, I had this question covered over at this thread. :)

Yup. Nothing else works.

Tried it with a Belkin, a Linksys and a Corega USB dongle.

Nope, it won't work unless your wireless adapter is using a Realtek chipset bro. Our dongle is nothing special, just that it is using a Realtek chipset and it's drivers are already pre-installed on our DVRtv operating system. :)

I did 5 timer recordings with this machine, 1 on Sunday and 4 on yesterday.

One of the recording did not turn out right, I set 1 hour for duration and repeat every monday. But the recording only have 30 minutes, i check the history it says 1 hr and Ok. I check the scheduling again, the new schedule create by the every monday states 1 hr for duration too. Is this a bug?

Perhaps your 1 hour of recording is splitted into 2 if you have set Auto Chapter in the Setup - Record options to 30mins? Maybe you can try doing a new scheduling again?

I have 5 recording with various timing ranging from 30mins to 1h 45mins. All of them come in 1 entry (file) in the playback menu. All of them are in the correct timing except 1 which is suppose to record 1hr but did 30mins.

The new entry in the schedule "re-created" by the DVR states it would record a duration of 1 hr for next monday. Will monitor the suitation.

Does Auto Chaptering splits up the file, i thought it is suppose to put a marker at the stipulated timing so you can fast forward to that marker.

I already know what to do. I'm no newbie with this. :)

The Main problem is that I can no longer set my SSID to be hidden because the inadequate wifi dongle is unable to find it. Even if I specify the SSID in the set up.

The supplied splitter is supposed to split analog signals so that one can be connected to our DVR while the other end can be connected directly to the TV. In this manner, user would be able to record an analog program with our DVR while they watch another directly via the TV built in tuner. :)

I guess I'm just plain stupid then, to trust what was told to me at the show.

Sigh.

I don't think I'm the only one with this issue... :(

The box seems to pick up the signal and the LED flashes to indicate input... but it does nothing.

I keep pressing and the LED keep flashing but there's no action from the box.

I'm not trying to sound too critical of this machine. It's still wonderful and works well recording the programs my wife wants to watch.

Just that... certain features expected just doesn't work as well as we thought it should. Well, I guess I'll let this function primarily as a DVR and I'll let my Mac mini handle the streaming videos. :D

Though I eagerly await the next firmware. :)

Recording TV program you mean ? Did you check if the TV Channel that you are recording has this audio blankout at regular interval ? I stick in the SCV cable connector to the player and scanned the Analog TV. What I found is that Channel 5 and Vasantham has regular audio blankout... bummer. Using my indoor antenna, this audio blankout happens on Channel U and Okto... arrgggghhhhh....

For me, the only consolation is that at least Digital 5, Digital CNA and Digital 8 are still watchable and recordable.. :-S

I just went through a 30min video recording of OKTO, no audio blankout faced. I connect the cable from the scv cable point to the box.

What I did was to unhidden my SSID, setup the connection using the AUTO detect function to find my SSID, after setting up the box setting, i hide back my SSID, the box would still connect to the router.

If you connect from the scv cable point you will encounter audio blankout on Channel 5 and Vasantham Analog TV. Try it. If yours does have this issue, then it could by my tuner is faulty.

the remote i think is a bit insensitive, the distance play a bit part, sometimes so laggy that all the commands just appeared.

Did you overlap anyone of the particular timing on the schedule? Example rec ch5 7pm-8pm and rec ch8 7.30pm-8.30pm.

Nope.

In the timer page, I did check everything is ready from the status, if there is any overlap in timing, the status would be "pause" instead of "ready" for the later scheduled timing.

I will try to monitor and see if the anormality happen again.

PS: The maximum of 3 quotes per thread post seem restrictive.

Seriously, suddenly i felt like a beta tester...

The timer problem strike again. Suppose to record another 1 hr show, instead it record 31mins again. Seriously, I am now very dissatisfied with the DVR, cannot even perform the basic timer recording.

Is this a firmware problem or a hardware bug? This is being advertised as a DVR TV but it doesn't even perform the basic function right.

I will try to take some pictures and post, i think this is really unacceptable.
