Post Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
I just downloaded the firmware and applied it to my POHD. How long does the updating process take? After the update, all it's showing now is the splash screen, nothing else. No main menu or whatever.

I also tried to disconnect/reconnect the power.

Did I just kill my device? :?

TIA

Ken

a big hooray for the dev team :D
i love all the new functions like FTP and the remote control

and finally i can download with the bittorrent with speeds above 50 KB/s (up to 200 KB/s)
i dont know if i have a stable wifi connection yet but we will see

but what i find amazing is that i can download faster than my internet speed

Image

1,3/8=0,1625 162,5 KB/s (i know that its horrible, it makes me cry very often :( :P )

200 KB/s is almost 30 % more, i dont even get that speed om my PC
thank you for that dev team ;)

that being said i do hope that their will be another update that will fix the small bugs (like a button for the remote control,audio/video info
and i dont like the new browser GUI but i am sure that their are also people who love it

and to all the people whining about everything that is not working for them, READ THE README.TXT !
dont think you know it already, it says clearly that you should do a safe install.
and there are already many posts in this thread that say to install it again

everything is working fine for me
thanks a lot ac ryan

I have only the blue install screen and the green line.

And it will do nothing now, almost for 1 1/2 hours.

Please HELP.

Here some of my findings, most have been mentionend before in this thread:

-I'm one of those that likes the new look
-The menu button during movie pb doesn't work anymore
-FTP works fine
-No scrolling during movie pb
-Movie/Audio Info reversed
-Hangs and reboots when accessing media library whilst preview on
-Log in webinterface only possible when bt = yes; and: what's the use of the rc if u can't see on yr pc what ur doing.... but maybe I'm overseeing something
-No screen size adjustment in set up menu (but for me the size is right so far)
-Plays everything as far as I can see (HDMI passthrough)
-Shortcuts disappeared
-Subtitles back to being unreadible

and this last one is what's making me go back to 3875.....

Thanks kraakie, but I mucked around a bit more in the forums and found a solution for my situation. I tried using a different thumbdrive to perform the safe-flash method and it worked.

My bad actually. I unzipped the update into a crowded folder and didn't see the readme file. Might I suggest staff junwei to replace that bit about updating via the system menu in his post, since it's a safer method anyway?

I strongly recommend anyone to go straight for the safe-flash method using a FAT32 thumbdrive to avoid any embarrassing grief. Silly me.

Question about the Safe Mode Flash:

Safe-mode flashing procedure (Recommended)
1. Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to any USB host port of the unit
2. Switch off the main power to the unit
3. Press and hold on to the power button on the front panel of the unit
4. Switch on the main power
5. Release the power button when the firmware update starts flashing on your display in a moment and will automatically reboot when update is completed
**Do not power off the unit during the flashing process!**

First I turn on the unit and plug the USB drive, that's clear...
What do you mean with switching of the main power and than hold on to the power button? I do switch of the main power with the power button, don't I? So whilst switching of I need to hold the power button? How Do I switch it back on than?Or do I turn it off, and hold the power button till it starts up again? I'm a little confused... :?: :?: :(

well....I have a video with both English and French audios and another video with Cantonese and Mandarin. The problem arises when switching audios while playing the movies, the movies just froze and then I had to forward the movie for it to work.

This is one of the bugs...
