Quote: 2) No audio over SPDIF (Passthrough) too. Here's a definite nono for me. I use my pohd for movies and mp3 equally, and there is no way I can ask my wife to go and change these settings whenever she uses it....

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
Film preview to slow, play next song? to slow! this wasn't an issue in al the other firmware's i have also the freezing problem...
and still my music doesn't play the right way.. like from one song to another in this case it supose to play it without a pause in it, but the pohd just inplant a pause...
flickering from the screen info and sometimes overlapping in a way it shouldn't, try to set ip manually then you will see what i mean but it is not the only time that it happent.. and what did you guys do with the info? it looks very very poor, make it atleast transparent
mm just tested it for 10 minutes, doesn't look very promissing.....

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
First impression...
The stutter is back! although it doesn't seem as frequent.
There appears to be a bug I have found. After pausing a movie to go for a smoke\beer etc. I press enter (or any other button) to get from the screen saver to the paused screen. I then press inst replay (out of habit because of previous audio problems) and the movie plays for a second or two and then the screen boes black with the audio still playing. I press inst replay a few times and the screen comes back okay again.
Watching a 720p .mkv tv show (The Big Bang Theory) it plays as though one frame is missing every second, not so much an occasional stutter as a very frequent stutter.
However, the image quality for the tv show is very much improved.
In playing around with settings for the movie stutter I get the impressions that 24p only works if HDMI Auto is selected in the video settings. Setting HDMI video to HDMI 60 overrides the 24p setting.
I still have a lot of testing to do which will be tomorrow.
That's my bit so far.
Cheers.
A.V.

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
I also have the problem that my device freezes very often compared to 4318. Before I had almost no problem with that.
The PlayOn HD device is on the market for a long time and the developement is still slowly moving forward. I know that the wait for the new SDK took a long time but I hope things will move forward. There is a big competition in the market. ACRyan is just one of a whole bunch. Dont get me wrong I love the device but the software today is the problem and not the hardware.
A device with that software and problems i cannot recommend to any friend who just wants watch his/her movies. Make this device usable for everybody.

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
Hi,
Thanx for the new firmware release, there are some good improvements. Especially the Thumbgen preview function (slow button) is nice. However, there is one major issue for me... the audio options:
1) HDMI Audio; should also have option 'None'. I don't want the audio on my TV when I've connected the POHD to my amplifier via SPDIF. Now I have to mute my TV (or actually turn down the volume to 0, because mute shows an icon on-screen continuously) if amp is turned on, my amp has slight delay configured due to TV image processing time... to keep audio-video in sync.
2) SPDIF Audio; if option 'Passtrough' is selected, it should also pass through stereo audio, not only audio with >2 channels. Now I can't listen to music or stereo TV shows over my amplifier anymore.
Any hope for a bug-fix release? Or do we have to wait another 3 months for a fix?
Thanx

 Re: [Official]POHD PV73100 (SDK3.X) r3582
Major Bug:
I'm another user reporting the No audio over SPDIF (Passthrough) . I'm using the optical port on the POHD and a TOS cable connected to my amplifier. All stereo files do not have any sound including video files. I've flashed my unit twice just to confirm the problem and the problem still persist. Downgrading to a lower firmware rectifies the issue so this is confirmed a firmware issue.
Improvements:
~ The picture quality looks great and is a huge improvement from the previous beta.
~ The unit works faster now and response better.
~ External USB power sync issue is fixed now. All my external devices shuts down properly.
~ Fixed the stuttering issue I had with my copy of Avatar from FLAWL3SS (24517 MBytes) **Awesome Job**
I've only tested the firmware for an hour & I have a lot more to try out before I can give a more comprehensive report. Overall the improvements are good so keep up the good work and thank you for the hard work. However the dev team must address the audio bug issue ASAP as it is a huge inconvenience.
PS: A sleep function would be great for future updates as I can put my LCD & Amplifier to sleep but it is rather ridiculous that my main media player needs to be turned off manually.
