Ok.. I've tried, but I still can't see the external USB drive via the network.
I can see the internal drive, no problem...

Also using the "browse entire network" option in Windows Explorer... nothing more than the HDD1.
I've turned on and of Samba/BT in the setup menu, but it's no use.

Edit / second problem: I've tried now with a USB stick, that I can acces using the POHD browser.
My external HDD doesn't seem to work anymore via USB now? Very strange.... The POHD doesn't even mention "USB plug in" when I unplug and connect the drive again....

Hmm could be that the usb hdd network option was in a newer firmware im not sure.

That's a pity.... I'd really like to use the option, but I just don't want to upgrade, cause honestly... nothing better was released after this beta. I read every topic and this one just is the most stable and bug-free FW there is at the moment.

So.. I guess I have to hang in there and wait for the next FW then?

BTW: How could it be that the POHD doesn't connect to my USB HDD anymore? (see my previous post)

Selfpowered one or does it get power from the usb port ?

It's a 3,5" inch HDD, so with external power.
To be precise, it's a Coolermaster X-Craft 360 with a Seagate 1,5TB disk. (same disk type I use as an internal disk in the POHD)

Strange maybe you can use another usb cable just to rule out the cable is broken ?

Ok... it was the cable...
Stupidly enough it worked fine until a week ago or so....

Now for the real problem.. trying to acces the external drive via network

In the latest firmware you have to turn off and on samba/nas to see the external usb drives in your network

In sdk4 this is auto done when connecting a external usb device

Ok, just did that once again... no external drive visible via network.
I can acces the external drive via the POHD browser --> USB and play files from it.

When I browse --> Network --> Workgroup --> PlayOnHD --> .....
I only see HDD1.

So, this is locally on the POHD, not using a pc. It just doesn't "see" the external drive via the network.
Very strange....

Does it work on your own POHD?



UPDATE:

Ok.... now I'm really getting "not happy"...

I WAS on beta 4107 and thought network connections would work better on beta 4318... So, updated to that one and now, I can't acces the POHD at all from my computer!
And the stupidest thing is, I can acces my computer from my POHD via network!

Really.... if I have to mess around this much to get a machine to do what it's supposed to do when it comes out of the box... I really have to retain myself not throwing it out of the window...

Going to try to flash back to 4107.


UPDATE 2:

Flashed back to 4107, now I can acces the POHD again from my computer.
Still no acces to the external disk, but can acces via browser --> USB...

Hoping for a decent firmware to be released soon.... but yeah, that's not been said before
