Re: [BETA] PV73100 r4107 firmware **POHD** Thanks for the new firmware, a couple of things not working for me are;
1. The HDMI auto setting sets my TV to 480p, on previous firmware (r3400) it worked ok (720p)
2. I use Thumbgen (gave up waiting for YAMJ to be usable) and have implemented the folder.jpg view, however I have found that on some of my movies when I scroll over to the movie folder in browser I see the thumbnail of the DVD cover (folder.jpg) but when I press "slow" on the remote instead of getting the moviesheet I get a larger version of the folder.jpg. This happens on 3 out of 130 movies only.

i am currently running on firmware v7.06.r2388 and want to try this new beta firmware.
i know i need to format the hdd because of v3, BUT i have a few concerns.
i have >1TB worth of data without a spare hdd big enough for backup.
i have a spare hdd size 160GB.
can i insert the 160GB hdd and format to the new firmware, then remove it and plug in the 2TB?
if yes, then my concern is solved.
if no, then any advice how i should proceed? will the guide on using Partition Magic (available in the forums) help?

I have no doubt at all with your professionalism. Nice work there. Below are my findings and suggestions for your consideration:-
1) remove the long scrolling bar in the main GUI as it looks like the device is loading.
We were debating to have that scrolling bar or not, but our concern was that users might be lost in the screens of icons scroll from left or right... The bar serves another purpose, similar to a guide.

Did I mentioned about Youtube on this thread? Actual fact: Youtube has been bought over by Google. The media licenses to have Youtube integrated into the firmware has changed. It's totally different compared to previous. Now we just need to have a proper license from Google to run this. We are still in the talks with Google, but no update from the team speaking to them.
Additional - by right, media players shouldn't have this included into the firmware.
Previously on other firmwares such as homebrew version by titooo (r2901 v2 by titooo) has some codes inside the firmware to make Youtube run. Another method is to running Metafeeds, but apparently it doesn't work on this firmware r4107 which I'm still checking with the development team what happened...
I think I mentioned YouKu issit ? on Asian firmware?
4) samba got turned off when loading movie from YAMJ. I am sure you will rectify that.
Our concern was the instability issue caused on BT / SAMBA so we had some auto turn off functions on BT / SAMBA on YAMJ module. The message seems to be in broken english so we need to fix that on the next firmware if Realtek new SDK don't solve that issue. But I smell some burnings claimed that they had solved it. I still think seeing is believing...
Thanks. Jun Wei, Thanks for your response and I appreciate the explanation. I think 1) & 2) is related, if you put a title text on the icon, then user won't be lost when scrolling. Then can remove the bar and the title text at the bottom I am sorry on my claim on Youtube. I had mixed up somewhere and also not sure why my mind have this Youtube thing. Anyway, I have checked your thread and indeed you did not mention anything about Youtube. So my sincere appolozies for any confusion caused. I fully understand the complication of licensing. Fyi, I notice Samba working fine though with r3643_YAMJ_trial. I can play movie from YAMJ and the Samba still on.
