A new Beta Firmware Release is available for the Playon! Series. This Update fixes the 'cannot play media file' error message in youtube and contains the new/updated ntfs driver we tested on the hd2/mini2 previously.
Below you will find links to download this new firmware including instructions on how to install this firmware. Please make sure you get the right firmware version for your product.

The flashing Procedures: We have 2x separate ways to flash your firmware. We strongly recommend you to use the ‘Safe-Mode method’ when it’s the first time you install this new firmware.

Safe-Mode method (*recommended!):
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Shutdown the player.
4. Press and hold down the power button in front of the player for 15 seconds.
5. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

System update method:
1. Download and extract the .zip file into the root folder of a USB-stick. Make sure the USB-stick is formatted to FAT32.
2. Insert the USB-stick to your player.
3. Go to Setup>Misc>USB Upgrade and press 'Enter' on your remote control to confirm.
4. Your player will restart and install the new firmware.

!!DO NOT POWER OFF THE UNIT WHILE FLASHING! THIS MIGHT CAUSE DAMAGE AND RESULT IN DEFECT HARDWARE!

Please fix stability of network/SAMBA!! Features are not significant

Stability on SAMBA will be fine.

When will there be a betarelease with better overall speed and fixed samba?

anyone tried it? how's samba on this one? i expect a brand new and improved samba since the ntfs drivers are new.

I need a firmware that can play 3d movies files like KMPlayer.

Since SDK4, the Network is not stable! SAMBA not always starts. If it starts, you can copy files to the POHD, but the POHD network hangs as soon you read data (need a reboot to fix). Reading data is for example indexing YAMJ or copying files back to the PC via SAMBA or FTP. Quite useless for a device sold as a network media player with NAS functionality.

What is the improvement of the NTFS driver exactly?
My drive is recognized perfectly and i don't seem to have problems with the current driver.

I do have problems with Samba, just like almost anybody else here.
Samba is slow after a reboot, we know that's a problem with CPU power and you can't help that either.
But if the player is running for a while the networkspeed is going down to about 1MB/s.. way too slow for a 100Mbit network (as advertised!)
Also Samba crashes when you read data by connecting your PC to the player.
All in all you have to reboot the player quite a lot when you want it to function properly.

Those Samba problems aren't new, they are quite old actually and it seems that nothing is done to fix it.
