Are you really blind to all the problems that plague this firmware and the last one? It's like a Venus Fly Trap, they sucker other people in to get the New Firmware version with new GUI and then you install it and BAM your shit is fuked up. This is what I think about it. Serious guys take the dame firmware off the list so other people aren't screwed like we were. Hell maybe you might even save them of 1.5 TB worth of backups. Why do you assume that since you are not happy with this firmware no one is? I am sure that are problems related to copying files, but I am just streaming from my NAS don't have a harddisk installed in the PoHD. I am satisfied with the performance and really recommend this firmware to people who use the PoHD like I do: GUI 2 is great and the shortcut option very handy.

I recently turned on the Playon!HD and saw it couldn't read the internal hard drive and asked me if I wanted to format it. I did a cold boot and the internal HD was back. This has never happened with any previous firmware version, and I've tried them all. Could be a bug, could just be a fluke. Just lettin' you guys know.

My YAMJ jukebox is no longer working. When I try to udpate the index.htm file I get a Read Only error. I may roll back to the previouse beta firmware. Anyone else see this?

I tried updating with more FWs but all are failes To me it's a BIG shortfall in the firmware but there are essentially 2 parts to get firware working. the first is the 'bootloader' the second is the 'firmware'. The problem is a firmware upgrade may not include BOTH the bootloader and firmware (to me this is stupid but what the hell) so if you have upgraded your bootloader then when you come to downgrade the 'old' firmware will not work with the new bootloader. Likewise if you have old firmware and try to jump to the latest firware; the LATEST firmware probably does not 'include' the required bootloader, you need to flash to the firmware that includes the latest bootloader first. While I think EVERY firware release should be a complete package it is not, so you have to READ the instructions with the firware regarding the upgrade path, sometimes you will need to also scan through the forum as some upgrade / dowgrades have some very complicated sequences required. To move from one 1 firware to another you may need to upgrade / flash numerous times in a specific order with different firware. One of kraakies posts is a good illustration of what I mean, he tells someone: Quote: Safe flase it to 4318 Then Flash it to r3583 normal way Then safe flash to r2115 From there you can safe flash to the newest fw. This is required so BOTH the parts required are correct, don't flame me, I'm just telling you the way it is, screwed-up. For me EVERY release should be a complete and independant package, sadly most are not. You can help yourself though, READ the upgrade instructions that come with the firmware. mostly ACR do give you a guide to the firmware upgrading route.

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r5440
Hi there, guys! The past weekend I installed version 5440 and seems nice! The only thing that troubled me was that although there were subtitles for a TV series, after selecting an episode to play, it wouldn't display them!!! Pressing the subtitle menu says that there are no subtitles! I checked and subtitles are normally there. The TV series is located on my NAS. Windows media player is displaying them normally and so is my Popcorn Hour C-200 which is in the big TV in my living room. The thing I noticed is that it would not display subtitles for a file which is inside a completed season folder with 24 episodes & 24 subs (*.srt), but it displays them normally in a folder where the new season is, which only has 2 episodes & 2 srt. I'm guessing it is the mentioned bug where if there are more than 15 subs in a folder it won't display any of them? If yes, then a clarification please: If I have 15 episodes & 15 subs it will display them normally, or I have to have a folder with less than 15 files in total? Anyways, if this is the case, it is fine by now (at the beginning of the tv season when there are not many episodes..) but later it will be a serious problem. Having a single folder for every movie in order to override this issue is absolutely normal for me, but having different folders for a TV Series's single season episodes is not!!! I hope this will be fixed soon! The other thing that is bugging me is the well known disability to set a static IP address for the Wifi, but it is not tragic ATM - annoying but not tragic.. I haven't tried to transfer big files via samba yet, to see if it succeeds. I always prefer the FTP method, but haven't tried that either (it is better for me to connect it via USB, since it is a much faster method to transfer files). Also, when the player powers up and is at the main menu, some logos and stuff are shown cropped (off screen from left and right). I have set the screen size but did not make any difference.. I love the ability to select the subtitles size, color and position and it is remembered. Took a while for this feature to appear, but is finally here!! Last but not least, I absolutely love the new shortcuts feature! One of the coolest features ever! IMHO no movies/music/photo options are necessary, only the ability to add shortcuts! My overall feeling is good! This firmware was a pleasant surprise for me and I hope that you will continue in this direction! (To be honest I was using the mede8er firmware for a while, because I got disappointed of the continuous problematic firmwares of the past. But with this one you have earned me back! I hope you will fix the 15 files/srt issue soon, though, because it is a BIG issue and probably a reason to lose me again...) Keep up the good work! Chris

I have a serious delay each time I return to the home page - waiting while the 73100 repopulates the recently added files on this page. If you are quick you can navigate off the page before the machine freezes - otherwise the delay is 15-20 sec or so.
Is it just me or do others have this annoyance too?

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r5440
How lucky are we... - I browse to my playon in my network. It shows the hidden partition, not my movies and music. - I reboot. It reboots a second time, (why?) ... and all of a sudden, I can see all the partitions, even the ones that I made hidden. Awesome... Now my networkmapping just points to the wrong directory. Also, my external HDD (USB 2.0) has disseappeared. Hooray! - A few reboots... all partitions and USB1 are shown. I drag my movie from my USB-disk to my pohd-directory.... "Blablabla... WRITE PROTECTED !!!". - I power my television, and open File Manager. It shows me... .guess what, jack shit ! Nothing, nada, not even one single file or directory or partition! I refresh my window on my computer, and all partitions still show... Why doesn't the device show them? - I decide to try the old-fashioned way of looking for the Copy-To option in the Home menu. Erm... not there anymore. No problem, lets try the "Copy"-button on my remote control. You choose: A) It does nothing, ... just sits there. B) It shows a new menu, bringing me closer to copying files; C) It shows me a menu, no files are shown to copy. D) The device reboots. I'll give you a hint.... I had a Double Date and after these two attempts, ... I took out my DVI-cable, and connected it to my TV; started Windows Media Player, ALT-F for fullscreen, and in no less than 5-seconds, my movie was playing, fullscreen, .... This product might be good for the Asian market, where they don't mind fiddling about and rebooting their mediaplayers, smartphones and even blowdryers, but in Europe, you loose customers over this!!!
