I upgraded through safe mode. but why the same old problem still exists ? it reboots itself if we stays in the main menu.

If I am not mistaken, to prevent it reboot itself. Maybe you try to delete ".Theater" file inside the internal HDD of POHD.

Last time I have problem of POHD rebooting. But, what I do, I take out my internal HDD of POHD and connect POHD directly to the tv without the HDD. The POHD did not reboot, so, I ssume the HDD have some problem which i delete the ".Theater" file and it works without rebooting.

Hello All,

For the time being the firmware is ok and thank you AC Ryan POHD support for the firmware. Hope to get a better firmware than this which solve of of the users problems as in the forum.

One problem which I am having is the slave usb. When I put the usb cable to the slave usb port, the POHD will ask if we want to go to pc connection which will required a restart of the POHD. So, I click OK. But, my computer cannot install the POHD driver because the POHD was hang or at idle state at the AC Ryan POHD title. When you take off the usb cable at the slave port of POHD, the POHD start as usual and still my computer cannot installed the PODH driver. The windows state that the driver cannot be installed because the device cannot start.

Any solution guys especially the AC Ryan people?

I have found a solution for this problem.

I cannot put any AV cable (HDMI, component cables - yellow, white, red, etc) if I want to use the POHD with my computer by using the USB slave port.

Regards to all....

At the rate AC Ryan is going I think it is going to be a long time before they come up with a reliable v7.4 firmware. Some of the people here had commented that AC Ryan may be focusing their effort on the newer products such as HD2 and DVR and thus ignore the old customers here. I had that impression too until I visited the forums of their newer products. The problems are just as bad as it is here except that the customers are even more furious. They bought the latest products and expected them to perform but many are totally disappointed. They basically surfer from all the problems that have been mentioned here (rebooting, leggy performance, files missing, subtitles problems, LAN issues, etc.). Additionally although HD2 is equipped with Gigabit Ethernet some people reportedly are getting unreliable file transfer performance and at a miserable speed of about 2MB/s. A truly gigabit LAN should be able achieve 30-50MB/s. I have reverted my HD to the old firmware (v7.3) as it more reliable although I prefer the new look of v7.4. Also with the old firmware I am able to transfer files at about 5MB/s over the LAN, which is important for me. I think AC Ryan is in a bad situation and you ought to make sure that you are not holding on to any of their shares!

They always telling the network chip isn't build for fast transfers it's for videostreaming. Well then they maybe should considering to put an extra chip in it for fast transfers. People are buying big hds for storing their movies and other stuff but the transfering takes to long.

Guys,

has somebody the same problem as me? when you turn off the player with the new firmware 5440, the fan is still turning, slowly but it is, if you put your head to the player you can hear it. Now it is allready 15 minutes after I shut down the player and the fan is still on. The main button is red. I shut it down with remote.

Let me know please if there is some solution for this otherwise I really need to downgrade again.

thx

Ok looks I found out where is the problem. If you have DLNA DMR on, then when you shut down the player it will actually freeze on shutting down. The fan will be still on, no video signal, main power button will be red, but you can not turn in on again...so shut down dlna dmr.

ACRyan why are you releasing such crappy firmwares???

The copy/move is not a samba issue. Apparently, copying from a card to HDD, from HDD to card (without using the network), from HDD to network, from card to network, from network to card (from unit GUI) crashes the system.

Using Samba only stops the service, you still need to scan the HDD after that but doesn't restart the unit.

i have a 2tb Wester digital and the card I used is a class 6 sony 8gb.

1 minute after you start to copy the unit restarts. you need to run scandisk on the HDD after that or the unit will continue to restart after the HDD is highlighted in the UI.

Hey,

today i sent an email to the bugtracker regarding the following problems:

1. Player model: ACR-PV73100
2. Firmware version: 5440
3. Reproducibility: always
4. Setup: how are you connected? Wireless
5. Operating System (optional): Leopard OSX
6. Description of problem:

My pohd does not recognize my hdd in terms of bt.
I've formatted the hdd to ntfs.
Installed the firmware without plugging the hdd.
Mounted and formatted the hdd through the pohd menu.
The hdd is recognized in the phod Files Manager, but when i try to activate the BT on the setup, it gives a message saying "No internal HDD".

Other thing is that when i try to copy files over usb, the transferring alts after a few gbs.
-------

I've been struggling with this box for quite a while now. it has already cost me a burned hdd.
The biannual firmwares keep getting me disappointed, because nothing seems to work;
- Sluggishness
- Slow Samba transfers
- Web apps, i've never managed to see a simple youtube feed.
- and torrent's leaded me to where i am now...with a formatted hdd because i was trying to sort things out with the partitions. Luckly i only make a mistake once, so everything was backed up.
Anyway's im really getting fed up with this piece. :grinning:

Does any of you guys have solution to the above problems, or will i have to sell it cheap?!

Post Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r5440
well after a few weeks of debating I decided to install the new firmware with gui 2.0 5440 on my two boxes.

So far its very nice and everything works ok no problems as yet. I know the network is slow transfering stuff but i just use an external portable drive to transfer new files .

I mainly use this for watvhing stuff so i dont play about with everything but once I do get an error on eaither box I will post on here :)

I know a few people think a c ryan are slow for updating but they are better than western digital as they have not updated the box I originally got from them and it needs newer codecs to run some stuff that has changed to newer encoder method.
