Our team has successfully migrated certain missing features to the new platform (SDK3.X) including frame seeking, plasma mode, and some adjustment fix, refer to changelog below.

However, at the moment, certain bugs related to audio are still unsolved and we are working closely with Realtek to resolve as soon as possible.

We hope that community understands that we are trying our best to meet our timeline in resolving reported bugs and we will release further versions as and when we are able to deliver further bug fixes/improvements, fixing audio bugs is top priority and we appreciate your patience as we work with Realtek to resolve.

Notice: This firmware version requires at least v7.3.x.r3582 or later installed in your unit.
Before you proceed, please go to SETUP - SYSTEM - SYSTEM INFO to check your current firmware version.
Download and install r3582 if required and then proceed to update to r4090.

Important: for r3582 firmware, please perform System Update instead of Safe-Mode Reflash. Refer to viewtopic.php?f=44&t=7481&start=0 for r3582

Known issues/ found bugs on r4090

01. Dvd eject does not work
02. Time and date not remembered after full power shutdown <--- This is not a bug.
03. Thumbgen crashes when browse fast thru images
04. Mkv certain type does not work
05. Yamj juxebox dir + index file must be removed yamj config util reinstalled and must be rescanned before yamj works
06. Ogg files does not play
07. Radio search output pages makes unit crash when browsing thru output pages
08. Wmv files with wma pro 10 or 11 format does not play sound correct
09. Subs are grey instead of white
10: Zoom functions not doing as they should.
11: device crashes when last audio file (example a MP3) in a folder is played.
12: .ssa external subs don`t work (tested over network)
13: Add new torrent failure. Torrents wont start.
14: Spdif/Passthrough is not working correct.
15. BT will crash the unit if an torrent has to many peers (>35) and the download speed is not limited at 100KB-200KB
16. Browsing thru the internal hdd can make the device crash

For Playon!HD and Mini, the PCB design doesn't include any internal hardware battery or hardware clock. The firmware r3582 introduction of time was mistake on our development team for Playon!HD and Playon!HD Mini, thus beta release of r4090 had time removed from the firmware for PV73XXX series.

May I know if I can downgrade back to Beta 4318 from this new version later on?

btw, can I update directly from fw 4318? or must install fw 3582 then update to 4090?

I accidently updated directly from 4318, but nothing bad happened thankfully.

I only tested for 30 mins but sad to say I will be going back to 4318.

Most of the previous problems I reported still not yet fixed, so this FW doesn't work for me.

My brief observations :-

The Good -

1) Time seek bar is back
2) Menu selection is back (but can't hide the Menu by pressing the 'Menu' button again. Have to press the 'Return' button). Small matter.
3) Subtitles problems fixed.
4) Sluggish browsing and preview fixed.

The Bad -

1) Thumbgen moviesheet 'Next' button scrolling still hangs the unit sometimes (but not as bad as before). Need to power off the wall power to reboot the unit.
2) Moviesheet graphic corruption still occurs moving from one sheet to the other.
3) Widescreen movies still zoomed out to much flatter picture (Very large black Bars top and bottom). FW 4318 and earlier didn't have such large black bars.
4) Karaoke function still not fixed
3) Stereo sound sources still doesn't work (no sound) when selected SPDIF passthrough.
4) Flac files in certain directories still doesn't work (Completely reset the unit). Note - All of these had no problems in previous FW 4318 and earlier.
5) Menus Icons and colors still no tmprovement yet from 3582.

I am sorry have to stop testing now since doesn't work for me. Going back to 4318 after this. Let you guys continue with the testing. Have a nice time and good luck. Hope it works for you.

Note for Junwei (request) :-

Could you just fix the 4318 FW so that the BD ISO problem (stuttering and sound drop problems) are fixed. I just need that fix for that particular FW. I don't need the new functions and GUI for the 3582/4090.

I will be satisfied just using the 4318 but with the BD ISO problem fixed.

I know it's a long shot with my request, but I just have to try
