 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r3966
this is more than a bit of an inconvenience. i just want to echo what others have said about releasing this as 'official' when there is much work to be done still.
i installed this firmware and cannot access the drive over the network as before (samba)... i am currently transferring files onto it over usb and it is slow.. very slow... (i'm on mac using ntfs3g.. so i don't know if this is slowing it.. i should get up to 480mb/s but it is nowhere near that.... on the network it was lightning fast.)
also.. i don't have a HD tv... i'm sure i'm in the minority with that, but just to say... the text is unreadable on analogue television sets (at least on mine)
i think i will have to roll it back until i see on the forums that this is working ok.
drat.
looking forward to a stable version of the new firmware / gui etc...
in the meantime.. what version can i safely roll back to with losing my files? (the drive is almost full and i have no way to back it up)
thanks,
Mark

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r3966
Generally I like the new FW but the Network (NAS, SAMBA whatever you want to call it) seems very unstable.
Example:
First time I switched on after upgrading FW (r3966 - 16.06.2011) things seemed fine, WORKGROUP showed on Network places and I could play movies stored on Networked PC's. Also copying files from Networked PC's over Wired LAN worked fine.
Next time I switched on, WORKGROUP had disappeared from Network Places and nothing I could do would get it back, except today I switch on and it's back.
However today I am trying to copy files from Networked PC to ACR HDD1 and firstly its horribly slow and secondly the PLAYONHD keeps 'Disappearing' from the Network and I get copy errors: "Windows cannot access \\PLAYONHD" and I have to switch off - on the Playonhd again and again and again.........
Using a DLINK DSL-2740B Wireless N ADSL2+ ROUTER PlayONHD connected to Port 2 of the 4 wired LAN ports, PC connected to Port 1.
Given up on YAMJ, ran all night and in the morning the PC screen was FULL of error messages and nothing appeared on the POHD.
Getting me really fed-up after initial good vibes, not sure this is ready to be called OFFICIAL still feels like BETA to me, a thought that seems to be echoed by more and more folk.
Anyway the FW is clearly a move in the right direction and if I can do / feedback on anything just let me know.

Anyway the FW is clearly a move in the right direction and if I can do / feedback on anything just let me know. I had the same issue with the previous firmware. Tried many things. But the issue was resolved completely when i disconnected Samsung HDTV from the network/router

please assist. thanks, in advance hi, by default windows media player is not able to use .mkv files with the play to feature. If you are able to install the required codecs you might be able to play it with WMP. Not sure if it will work with the play to feature though. Best to check Microsoft help with their Play To Feature and MKV files. best regards,

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r3966
Hi,
This is a long thread so sorry if its been answered before but I have just flashed with this firmware and its horrible, can anyone tell me if its possible to regress. I only played with it for half and hour but the problems I was having are:
On the first boot the box tried to scan the HDD for media it completley froze and needed to be turned off via the plug. I disabled that feature and created my network shortcuts only to find it re-promts me for my password every time I got back in the network shortcut despite it being saved (connecting to Windows 7 Ultimate) so I tried YouTube and I click play on one video and it just selects another one at random and plays that? It did the same thing on sevral videos.
Other than all the issues I just preffer the old UI so would like it back. I only really flashed it to get youtube but seeing as that doesn't even work its not worth all the other glitches.
Many Thanks

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r3966
A few suggestion
1) Safe Mode FW update a second time if you feel something is not quite right, seems to work / correct problems sop many times. so many times. 2) Disconnect your LAN after flashing FW and once it has scanned Built in HDD turn scanning off before re-connecting LAN. Stupid thing was trying to scan ALL the computers on my Network, even back-up drives connected to PC's! 3) Make sure permissions are all set on the internal HDD, needs to be done with a USB connection to a PC.
4) If all else fails SAFE MODE FW flash back to an older version
For the CODEC problem, K-lite Codec Pack works for me, google it.

Arne wrote: Can you try to safe-mode flash r3582 from our official support page and afterwards safe-mode install r3966? Also please try using another usb stick and format it in FAT32 without Quickformat. NOTE: after how much time progress bar freezes? Can it be that the installation progress is already completed - so if you pull the power plug and try to boot it will it start?
br,
I tried to safe-mode flash r3582 , then safe-mode install r3966 without success. Next try will with another USB key, classically formated. The progress bar freeze quickly, she's completely filled with a first and a second time, but at the third time she freeze. I did not pay attention at which it stops. I will do it later. BR Denis

 Re: [Official] Firmware_PV73100_v7.4.x.r3966
I have the following progblems:
1. Every time I turn the device on since I upgraded to this firmware it takes me through the initial setup.
2. Every time I switch the device on BT is off as is SAMBA
3. If I leave the device on BT switches.
4. The GUI is slow
5. I was watching video podcasts, pressed the setup button on my remote - because BT crashed! - and the whole system crashed.
Come one, guys - this is only after 2 hours of use! It's a waste of time for some of us.

Trying to flash the firmware and it's not successful. Keep prompting "Incompatible BootLoader" Reload the older firmware.
Read through the thread and tried flash 3875, still unable to update. Ver 3582 is not working.
Getting bored and giving up.
