Try to update 'manually' if you did it via the menu option. This can be done by:

- Pull out the plug
- Put the USB disc with the firmware and extentions in the POHD
- Push the on/off button and keep it pushed
- Plug in the power/plug
- Release the on/off button if you see a 'firmware update' screen (after the PlayOn!HD boot screen)

- Go to the menu install the extentions.

If you set it to PAL in the menu, it will be saved. I agree the Europe version should be on PAL, on the other hand. The 'Europe' version is also used for the states
(there is only a europe version and a asian version (which includes PPS))

Eugene, or another AC Ryan staff member, could you please confirm that the 'reverse-video' problem (screen turns greenish/cyanish LIKE THIS) that showed up since using SDK3 is being adressed or at least investigated.

Same here on a Philips FPL 9604.
@gmh: try the image of the newest YAMJ firmware - that works here.

@still got problems with high bitrate 1080 mkvs stuttering. A.C. RYAN are you working on that or can't that problem simply not be solved because of crappy hardware?

For me its in every 1080p MKV I am looking at, most movies have at least one or more scenes where the image is moving fast or has some kind of helicopter overview, those scenes always have a very annoying stutter, audio is breaking up as well..

I am using shared folders in Windows 7, and have a playon!HD Mini, only using it for streaming MKVs, but that doesnt seem to be working well..

Streaming over wired network, not wireless.. Dont want to use it with an external USB HDD, that's not what I bought the POHD for...

Hi Chris,
bitrates ~ >50.000 kb/s. So, >5 MB/sec. should be easily possible.
The probs are movies with complex scenes (snow falling e.g --> stuttering in theses snow scenes).
Many of 1080 mkv work pretty fine but some are impossible to watch. I made a test with media player classic and the stuttering scenes are all between 50.000 and 65.000 kb/s - I dont have movies that have more than that.
I've tried using: NFS, Samba Shares, UPNP which is best but still stutters. I'm streaming via Gigabit Lan from NAS. Problem is definitely tthe POHD. Datarates from NAS to PC are about 70-80 MB (!)/ sec and the files play perfectly well streamed from NAS to PC. A internal HDD for caching (if this should be possible) didn't help at all.

As we can read in other threads I'm not the only one with that problem.
So, is there a chance that it will be solved by A.C.R or not? If not: please just say it!!

Regards
Sponch

Cool, your POHD is drunk :)
Try on an other TV (if none: by friends) and with multiple cables. If the problem still exists: it's the POHD, if not it's in the cables or TV. Then try other devices with HDMI on the same tv.

If it's the POHD, I would recommand a re-flash of this firmware via the manual way (not via menu). If still exists: return POHD, it's broken I would say.

All other device on same tv work fine with same cables.

Was this a reflash of the same firmware or a lower version ?

Have you tried different output settings and did you try the composite and/or component outputs of the POHD to see if it was still there ?

I tried the lastest version and previous beta, same problema.

Yes, tried several resolutions.
No i didn't try other outputs.

So far, the only way that the image back to normal is, in the menu sound | change anything in digital output.

Hi to all AC-Ryan Developers & so sorry for crossposting!

By chance i found a phenomenon, i can`t explain this and i dont understand the coherences but i think thats a fine solution for all users who only use the POHD as video machine without playing tools!

Deactivating the Torrent btpd service (only tested with 2388 & 2901) all probs with upscaling or HDMI dropouts are gone.
Kicking over ftp useless things (useless for me and some other users) like youtube / Picasa &&& to get a only Videoplayback Machine i have no longer probs with upscaling dvds, hdmi handshakes, droputs, green lines & some other issues.
My conclusion is .... the POHD is overloaded with tools which can`t live to 100% in coexistent.
My suggestion to AC-Ryan for all frustrated users ....
PLEASE !!!!!!!!!! release a firmware with a run down number of tools, only videomachine
no youtube, no flickr/picasa feeds, no medialibrary, no radio
I think it`s no prob for you to remove these things and compile a reduced version with basics.
I can`t release a hacked version because i`m no developer and i try this by run or not run (kicking things per FTP access)
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, don`t ignore this, i can`t explain it but it runs.
Try to release a simple version and just wait user comments & some users will be very happy!
PLEASE AGAIN!!!! :( :(

Most people report transfer rates to the POHD of 4MB/sec to 5MB/sec so I'm not surprised high bitrate files stutter.

I am on 2901 for a month or so now and have to say, the only bug I see is that when selecting 720p on my Playon, it does not appear correctly on my Panasonic PT-AX100 projector. Well it doesn't workj on my Sharp LCD tv also. All other resolutions work fine including 1080i/P which my 720p projector does a fine job of showing. Basically when I select 720p on mt playon, the left and right sides disappear out of the screen as it appears to big to fit on my projector screen. Asjusting the Screen size using playon does not help. I am using HDMI connections btw.
