Could you enlarge the browser picture screen en reduce the name panel in order the background pictures generate by the TVIXIE can be used for dvd cover + additional info so no need of YAMJ or other GUI's?

When the background pictures are named as 1.jpg via TVIXIE with a resolution of 1920x1080 you have a nice background. see example

As the browser is more reliable and faster with scrolling could you add an overlay with a play, trailer and back button so you do not have to use YAMJ.

Took the BBTyaDIS template from the TVIXIE forum and changed it with resizer a tool also found on the TVIXIE forum which helps you to change from 720p to 1080p.

Unzip

in the directory of ..\Program Files\TViXiE\Templates\Movie and generate the background files with TVIXIE. set options to a HTPC 1080 and modify the line in the file models.xml for the 1080 HTPC from background.jpg to 1.jpg and generate the html pages.

with the new option of showing the first jpg in a movie folder,
when you press the "slow" button the jpg enlarges to full screen.
now i also have used the tvixie jpg as 0.jpg as it is then the first.

when i pressed the "slow"button the picture enlarged,
and (here comes the funpart) when now pressing the ok button it starts to play the movie.

it works for the mini as well as the big pohd,
see my siggy for which firmware i used.

;)

Those play buttons for DvdPlayer function calls are just a mock up he did - they would have to be coded into the firmware. Or more simply hitting the play button would more easily be coded as playing the first available video file within the folder and voila!

FYI the GUI does not go beyond 1260 x 600 pixels by much so making the background jpgs 1920x1080 would have no benefit over 720p though I am not sure how much difference in load time at would make. You would have to test it out to see if there is any noticeable lag.

hi Matt with the new beta`s when you use the "slow" button,
it enlarges the folder picture to full screen,
then if you press the play button or the ok button,
it indeed will start the first video file in that folder.
it just doesn`t seem to work great for dvd structures with the "VIDEO_TS" folder,
but with the mkv, avi, m2ts and iso it should fuction.

;)

Reaaaalllllyy? Nice add on, and I would say that my mistake was not reading the release notes but since there were none for the latest firmware I will proudly rely on that as my defense.

I will check it out. This works well for those of us who already arrange our media by Movie/Movie.mkv and TvShow/Season/Tvshow.mkv. It does forget the main draw of the YAMJ/Tvixie multiple image selection but it is nice to know - I probably would have never attempted it.

And since I do not use DVD file structure (standard definition hurts my high definition eyes), I do not have to worry about that.

Matt.

Matt.

same here i use tvixie to make the jpg`s.
then i remove the folder.jpg from tvixie from all my folders.
and use the tvixie.jpg for the folder view.
as it has all the movie info

then pressing the play button and the fun starts.
now even my wife can do it.

but i`m still using yamj as well off course (although mostly for testing purposes)
about the play the file when the jpg is in full screen,
i came around because i was nosy and wanted to see what would happen if ......

and see the result again a hidden function ;)

someone else found out about the "slow" button that it would load the jpg as an full screen picture,
but elaborating on that gave me this option.

;)
