Post Numbers on remote control
I asked this question on another post.. but i somewhat hi-jacked it.. so ill ask again here..

Are the numbers on the remote control suppose to work in the 'go to' area (hours/Minutes/Seconds/Chapters etc..) like they work when setting a record schedule?

If this is just a bug, where right now on 5440 they are not working thats fine.
If not, can i ask this as a feature request... that the numbers on the remote control be enabled for the 'go to' area as well...

If the numbers worked in the 'go to' area, people with a programmable remote control (with macros like Harmony & Pronto), can create a CM skip.

Thanks!

Kurt

This is gonna be fixed in the upcoming firmware. Thanks for your input again! We didn't really consider this a bug though. But agreed that it's logical to use numberpad to enter the time in 'goto' function.

cheers,

Post Re: Numbers on remote control
the more i think about this, it will not work as a CM skip, unless it was a +30 (or add 30 seconds)

For example, if the timecode was 35 seconds when you went into the 'go to' area, and you programmed 30, you would end up going back 5 seconds.
It would need to increase 30 seconds to work as a CM skip.

it would be nice none the less.. to have this in the 'go to' area, maybe another little window next to the hour/minute/seconds, that was a 'Plus' (up arrow) or 'Minus' (down arrow) amount.... Then you could enter 30 in the window and press the up arrow to go ahead 30... etc..

thanks

Post Re: Numbers on remote control
if the minute area in the 'go to' is smart enough to see that it is over the 30 second point, then the CM skip idea will work.
As it is now, the minute area is smart enough to see this. So when entering numbers in the box it needs to also work.

for example,
now, if you use the up arrow and keep increasing the seconds over 59, the minute area will increase by 1 as soon as you hit 00 in the second area. This is good (i have 3 other DVRs that this dont work).
So when the seconds are entered by the remote control numbers, it still needs to work this way to be able to program in a CM skip.
